1976

This was my first year watching Poole. It started on Good Friday when a large crowd witnessed a comfortable win against Ivan Mauger and the Exeter Falcons.
Little success on the track for Poole this year who finished mid-table, but it was a memorable year with the successes of Malcolm Simmons; British Champion, Inter-continental Champion, World Pairs Champion (with John Louis) and to cap it all, runner-up in the World Final behind fellow-Brit Peter Collins.

This was the moment 'Simmo' lost the crown to Collins.
