Our club

Growing old seems to be compulsory ... fortunately growing up isn't!

We are a long established mountaineering club affiliated to the BMC and have links with our other JMCS sections North of the border.  All members are automatically covered by the BMC's 3rd party liability cover and have access to all BMC services.

Our activities are mostly in the mountains or on sea cliffs and include a wide range of outdoor pursuits: walking, scrambling, climbing (rock, snow, ice, mush, heather, ...), biking, skiing, sailing.  We meet monthly, usually on the 3rd weekend of the month and also take advantage of bank holidays.  We often have groups making their own plans for ski trips, sailing trips, Alps trips and even the Himalaya.  Our membership covers a wide age and standard range so we typically go to wild places where there are opportunities for all.  I include some of the more dramatic pictures but we cater for beginners and ramblers as well.

We have our own cottage in Bethesda, Snowdonia with very convenient access to both the pubs and the hills of the Ogwen and Llanberis valleys.  Angelsey (and Holyhead) are a short drive away and often have good weather when the hills are in cloud.
