70 years on, I remember Billy with
affection; may this website act as a tribute to this dog. My father bought him as a puppy from a farm - his mother a sheepdog, father a wire-haired fox terrier.
With great patience, my father taught him
many 'tricks', performed all by signs and one by sub-audio sound. The hand sign tricks he obeyed by rolling over, begging, and dancing forward on his hind legs. Rewards for these were important, usually consisting of pieces of ginger biscuits which were his favourite titbits.
Fortuitously, although only a small dog,
the dancing efforts seemed to have created |
