This page lists what records I have available on the
ABBS name. At the moment the information is only available
by contacting me as the data is being constantly collected and compiled
but it is hoped to have the details eventually available on-line. If
you have any information which you think could be useful it will be
gratefully received.
GRO Birth, Marriage and Death Index
The GRO Index is housed at the Family Record Centre in
London. They cover births, marriages and deaths in England
and Wales. The volumes which start in June 1837 are produced
quarterly (March, June, September and December) and are arranged alphabetically.
Each entry gives surname, forename, district, volume number
and page. With this information you are then able to obtain
the relevant certificate from the General Register Office in Stockport.
I am currently going through the GRO Indexes, extracting
