Milton Park Cambridge

I started to study art when I lived in Cambridge, this led me on a serrendipitous journey to Norwich, where I have been studying at the School of Art & Design. I have completed a BA in Sculpture and am now in the middle of an MA in Photographic Studies. I engage with most disciplines in art but am passionate about Sculpture and Photography, especially the cross over area that exists between the two. Through photographic documentation of the sculptural process I am able to capture instant moments of creation. Using video I have been able to capture the fluxes of materials that occur whilst sculpting, particularly mould making. Throughout my practical work one of the major themes that I am looking at is representation of the female, I strongly feel that the imbalance of our male dominated world needs addressing. I am also interested in the fundamental elements of life Earth, Air, Fire and Water and try to incorporate them into my work.My interest in fluxes has now developed to include elements of life, time and space, again I am using film based media to record this type of work. Currently my research centres arround the history of Norwich which I delve into through the voice of others. I try to produce work that will invoke memories for those that live here.I also have a huge passion for changing reality with the camera. I am very experimental and use a combination of techniques to acheive images that are not a straight reflection of reality. Please see the entry on Picture Norfolk.
