 Well I have been neglecting this site then haven't I ? Since the last update we have played 2 gigs, one at the Whitworth arms, one at the old stomping ground of the Dry Bar, personally I thought the Whitworth arms was a better gig certainly better value for money - it was free and had a better atmosphere than the sterile Dry Bar, So much so we have agreed to do the promoters other night at the Thirsty Scholar in a couple of weeks (date and time posted RIGHT HERE when I know what it is). As per the last post, below, we didn't think that 4 new songs was enough so we hastily wrote another and recorded that as well, so there will be five new songs for you aural pleasure, of course posted here when complete. As with all back catalogues a bit of re-mastering never goes a miss, (and I didn't know how to do it when we first recorded them) so I dusted off the old masters of 'How Many Times' & 'Beautiful Me, Beautiful You' and gave them a tinker, The results are on the LISTEN page..

We thought it was about time to do another recording, taking the lessons learned from the previous 'how many times' recordings. Three songs have been decided on already with a possibly over ambitious fourth a potential, recording starts next week & of course they will be posted right here when complete.. Well I have been a bit lazy updating this but there is much to do and not much time, there are more gigs coming up, more recordings in process, new songs being written, photos of the last gig to put on.. all of which can wait until tomorrow.. We will be on the wireless radio this Thursday if anyone wants to listen its Xfm Manchester unsigned thing and you can vote for us HERE. Go on it will only take a minute..

I have neglected to update the website for a while, shame, But in the meantime there was the Dry Bar gig, which was good, apart from the venue which I swear gets smellier  every time. A couple of new tunes for you at the next gig which is a big one, Club Academy on the 30th March,  Tickets are available here, Should be a good one so see you there.

Thanks to all who came down to The Lounge last Wednesday, the two new tunes 'The person you were meant to be' & 'It doesn't matter' going down particularly well, despite the latter only being completed two days before, the next one is at the Dry Bar on Oldham street a week on Thursday (22nd) and is £4 so see you there..

Its almost live time again folks, The Tracks have been toiling away on some new stuff as well as tweaking the established tunes for your listening pleasure. The Tracks CD factory (my room) has been churning out the new EP at an alarming rate of almost one a day to be ready to be handed out gratis at the the upcoming gigs. The first one is next week on Wednesday the 7th down at The Lounge Bar in Chorlton. Its a free one so as there is bugger all else to do on a Wednesday come on down to Chorltonville.

So thats it for 2006, I hope you all have a good 2007 - in the interim the final mix of 'Beautiful me, Beautiful you' has been completed and is on the listen pages, and also has been put on Listen To Manchester today, have a listen - rate the song and watch it soar up the charts.

Well the update is only a month late, thats your live lot for 2006, but do not despair are currently working vaguely hard on the set for early 2007. The CD's never materialised at the last gig as the songs had not been mixed at the time and a month on only one of them has been, have a listen HERE. This one is called 'How Many Times' and is the first song that we have self recorded/produced so have a listen and see what you think.

The last gig of this year is fast approaching, 2nd November at the late room, as usual the hurried promotion machine lumbers into action.  The now ubiquitous thank you to all the Tracksters who braved the risible organisation of Jabez Clegg. The set was cut short but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm. The tickets for the late room are either available at the door or from one of us in advance for but £4 & if all goes to plan there will be a strictly limited bunch of CD's of the new recordings for no money whatsoever, so no reason to eschew and come on down to what will truly be an epochal performance.

Thanks to everyone who came down to our recent gigs at Dry Bar and the Lounge, as ever your support is much appreciated.  Next on the bill in Manchester is a gig on the 5th October at Jabez Clegg, in the meantime the tracks first venture into Yorkshire will be this weekend, we are playing at the Cardigan Arms in Leeds, if you have any brethren in the Leeds or fancy making the journey  mail The Tracks for more info.

I have been too lazy to update the website recently so the news is: We will be playing an gig this week at the Lounge in Chorlton on Wednesday night, this is a FREE gig so bring friends, colleagues, parents, pets etc. The Night and Day gig next month has been cancelled due to some reason or other that I am not 100% sure of so all the more reason to catch us this Wednesday. Lastly there are 2 new sets of photo's in the Images section, both of the familiar Dry Bar, you may also notice a video of Velvet Sky in there, the quality is pretty ropey but good enough to get a flavour of the live stuff.

Massive thank you to all who came down to Night & Day on Friday, a special thanks goes to the Nottingham and London contingent. The Tracks are back in the studio to record 2 further songs “Velvet Sky” and “Underestimated” for those that know them, they will be in the  Listen section as we get them back from the studio.

Night and Day gig coming up on Friday, the ubiquitous flyers available here, there will be even more new songs, Steve has been reported to have said he will buy anyone who comes down a drink so come down early to witness the miracle, well you kind of have too as we are on at eight.

After a small double booking error the whole gig was moved to the much loved venue of Dry Bar, and even without a sound check (with the help of Phil the sound engineer) The Tracks played what has been touted the 'best gig yet'. The change in venue did not dampen the enthusiastic support with the new songs 'Outside' & 'Velvet Sky' going down particularly well. There are photo's and possibly some video clips to be posted so watch this space.......
