I have
for some time felt under mild pressure to seek recognition for my
pictures.
I
have been many times to Lakeland Photographic Holidays
whose owners
(John & Gail)
have
been frequently asking me when are you getting your "L"? I have also
been quietly
encouraged
by friends in my camera club (Woodley Photographic
Club). So I decided
to try
and
achieve the first level of recognition within the Royal
Photographic
Society - the Licentiateship. (LRPS)
For this you need to submit 10 images showing that you are a competent
photogrpaher.
I
knuckled down and selected two sets of 5 pictures and attended a RPS
Workshop last July.
I
chose a set of 5 infra reds and a set of 5 motorbike pictures.
I
was fortunate to have as my "judge" Dr Chris Palmer. He suggested that
I concentrate
on
one set ; so I chose motorbikes. I had another couple of spare images,
and Chris said
they
were suitable. I went out and took lots more pictures and together with
Chris' help
finally
got my panel together. I submitted it for the January assessment, but
unfortunately
due
to work committments, I was unable to attend.
I
read that I was successful on the RPS website.
I
recommend that if you are keen on photography, recognition is good to
achieve, be it from
the
RPS or the PAGB - (Photographic Alliance of
Great Britian). There are
lots of people out there who are willing to help you.
Some of the pictures already appear on my website, but here they are
all together.
