A personal collection to commemorate the end of the British
Railways DMU

Apart from a single heavily-rebuilt example on the Chiltern line, the
British diesel-mechanical multiple unit (DMMU) of which thousands were
built iin the 1950s bows out of National Rail service at the end of
2003. The pages here are indended as the first of a small
collection which will celebrate their life and work, compiled by one
who remembers travelling on some of the very first.
