I have painted all my life, but more recently, after leaving full time work, I have been able to give painting priority. I paint mainly in oil or chalk pastel.

My work is based on the things around me, which constantly present themselves as pictures. It might be vegetables from the allotment or the trees and buildings of the streets of Oxford. I particularly like working in the winter with the low light and the bare trees picking out patterns.

I have a degree in Philosophy and Theology and have worked in Mental Health for most of my working life. But alongside this painting has been a constant and irresistible presence.

I have taken part in Oxfordshire Artweeks for many years and have been a member of Oxford Art Society since 2005.

I have had work accepted for the Pastel Society Open Exhibition at the Mall Galleries since 2006.
