Free Children's Summer Game

Welcome to Chaz Rapley's Children's Summer Game Web Site where games can be downloaded free. This site is centered around my interest in developing simple computer games for young children, using the visual programming language Delphi.  I am an enthusiast programmer, rather than professional and am interested in making contact with other enthusiasts, both in Delphi programming and children's games.

The games are developed from scratch, so are original and are aimed at exploiting the flexibility of computer-based games as well as being simple in concept and use.  This site features a summer version of my Frogs game (available on my main games site - see below), called BUNNY HOPS and it can be downloaded free for your own use.  The game cannot be played on this site, it has to be downloaded to your own PC to play.   A description of the game is given below.

BUNNY HOPS

This game is based on the traditional game of Solitaire with bunnies taking the place of checkers.  The aim is to remove bunnies by hopping over an adjacent bunny until only one bunny is left.  In this game click the bunny that you want to move (its ears lift up with excitement ready to hop!) and then click a blank space that it can move to (up,down, left, right) by hopping over the bunny between, which then disappears.  There must be a bunny next to it (left, right, up or down) to hop over as it cannot hop over a blank space.  A screen-shot of the game at the start of the 5 bunnies level is shown below.

The middle bunny in the bottom row can hop over the bunny to its right or left as there is a clear space at the other side of each bunny.  It cannot hop over the bunny above it as there is another bunny in the space above it.  It also cannot hop downwards as there is not a bunny next to it there to hop over.

After a move you can undo it by clicking the UNDO button.  After a number of unsuccessful tries, the First 2 Moves button becomes available to get you started in the right direction!  This increases with more unsuccessful tries at the higher levels to show the first 4 and 6 moves for one possible solution.

There are 10 levels to try, with an increased number of bunnys in each level.

For those visitors that may have missed my previous free Easter, Christmas or Halloween games, I have left them on the end of this site for you to see and maybe download if you have not already tried them.

EASTER SWOPIT

In this game
the player sees an easter-time object which is then broken up and mixed with similar but not the same objects spread around the play area.   The object is then re-assembled, anywhere in the play area, by clicking and swopping squares.   A screen-shot of the game at the start of the Hat level is shown below.

The player selects the shape level then clicks the NEW GAME button to show the shape for this play.  Remembering where each coloured square is in the shape the player then clicks the START button to disperse the squares at random amongst other similar (but not the same) squares.

Using the left mouse button the player clicks a square then click another square to make them change places.   This method is then used to assemble the squares back together again to get the shape that you started with.  You can build-up the shape at any position on the 10x10 panel.  In the above screen shot the player has clicked the START button  to disperse the three squares of the Easter hat around the play area, mixed in with similar other parts of Easter hat.

If the player cannot remember all the squares in the shape they can click the HINT button which will show a square at random for a short while.  If that does not help the HINT button can be clicked again, as many times as you wish,  between clicks of the mouse in the play area.

There are more squares to remember with the higher shape level Easter-time shapes.

RUDOLF

Rudolf has had his antlers all broken up rescuing Donna and Blitzen from the polar bears!  He needs your help to get his antlers back in place so he can lead Santa's sleigh on Christmas night.  Using your left mouse button click a square of antler and then click another square to make them change places.  Use this method to get the bits of antler into the right places with the least number of clicks of your mouse button.  A screen-shot of the game in play is shown below.

The player is in Level 1 and has made 2 moves to complete the two squares of antler directly above Rudolf's head.  When you have completed the whole set of antlers a green panel appears to confirm this and Rudolf says thank you in his own way!  After this you can click the NEW GAME button to play again with the same start conditions as before and try and beat your lowest number of clicks.  You should eventually be able to do it in not more than 12 clicks of your mouse.

In Level 2 the distribution of bits of antler are set at random differently for every click of the NEW GAME button.  In addition a square of broken antler from Donna is mixed in with Rudolf's so you will find that one of the squares of broken antler does not quite fit in with Rudolf's.  The object is to find the Donna bit with the least number of clicks of your mouse.  If you think you can see it, then click it and then click the DETECT button to see if you are right.  If it is not the Donna bit then continue until you can find it.  Try and find it before you complete the rest of Rudolf's antlers.  Each time you click the NEW GAME button the antler pieces are set differently at random with a different Donna piece to try and detect.

HALLOWEEN HUNT

The object of this game is to discover as many hidden Halloween characters and score as many points as you can.  The player clicks any yellow Witch button in the play area with the left mouse button to hunt for the characters.  A screen-shot of the game in play is shown below.

The screen-shot shown the play after 40 clicks of the Witch buttons with various Halloween characters found.  The number to find of each character is shown in the blue panel which also shows the number of hits currently of each and their points value.
So far 22 characters have been found and the total points scored is 58.

The player has 75 clicks to find the characters which are positioned at random with each game played.  After 75 clicks the total points scored is shown and the player can click the NEW GAME button to try and beat that score.  The players best score is displayed after the first game.

As you can see from the blue panel, there are a total of 50 characters hidden at random in the play area.  Can you find all 50 and hit the maximum score of 125?
