Power showers A power shower is the most invigorating shower available, the stored water is pumped through the mixer valve at powerful flow rates, the mixer valve can be manual or the very precise temperature controlled thermostatic mixer, the valve can be surface mounted or recessed to conceal the pipework for a neater appearance.
Electric showers Most electric showers are fed from the mains water supply and heat it as it is being used at any time night or day, they are particularly useful for people who don't have a stored hot water supply, the modern type of electric showers have built in temperature stabilizers and anti scald devices.
Pressure equalising showers suitable for combination boilers & multipoint water heaters and are connected directly to the hot and cold water supply pipes these can either be surface mounted or recessed to conceal the pipework.

CONTROLS
it is essential that a heating system has energy saving controls fitted.
Lots of heating systems fitted 15 to 20 or more years ago where of the gravity hot water design with the pump on the heating circuit pipework to circulate water to the radiators when required.
These systems often had just a time clock and sometimes a room thermostat to control the pump.
The systems fitted today are normally fully pumped which is a much more efficient way to heat the water and radiators.
Zone valves and thermostats on the heating and hot water system with a boiler interlock to control the system when chosen temperatures are reached.
Thermostatic radiator valves are also a good way to control room temperatures, below are some manufacturers of heating controls suitable for your system.

CORROSION
A heating system that is corroding will almost certainly fail in the near future. There are a number of reasons why corrosion occurs.
System design
A wrongly positioned pump or cold feed and open vent pipe can cause air to be drawn into the system, or water may pump into the feed and expansion tank through the expansion or vent pipe thereby causing aerated water to enter the system which will corrode the steel panel radiators, one of the symptoms of this type of problem is the need to vent the radiators frequently or cold spots on the radiator surface .
Pump failure
The position of the pump and feed and vent pipe are critical to a well balanced heating system, premature pump failure will occur and even radiators rusting through if the heating system is badly designed. There are products on the market to stop the corrosion process provided the central heating system is designed well and fitted correctly.
More information will be added soon.
