DIRECTIONS FOR REACHING BIRKENHEAD HIGH SCHOOL 86 Devonshire Place, Prenton, Merseyside CH43 1TY

TRAIN:             From Liverpool (Merseyrail: Wirral Line from Lime Street or Central) or
Chester either to Birkenhead (Hamilton Square) and then by bus, or to
Birkenhead Park (West Kirby or New Brighton lines) and then walk through
the park along Ashville Road and up Manor Hill (15 minutes).

CAR:                 From Manchester or M6 (South)

Take the M56 (West to Junction 15) then M53 to Junction 3 (A552 Birkenhead). Ignore A41 to Birkenhead at Junction 5.

At first set of foil traffic lights ('/4 mile) turn left into Holm Lane, following the road round a sharp right hand bend. Bear left at the top of the hill and continue along Talbot Road/Bidston Road to traffic lights. Turn right at the lights into Gerald Road - bear right at junction with Shrewsbury Road, then immediately left into Alton Road - proceed to next junction (by church) and turn left into Devonshire Place (school grounds on your right) to iron bridge over the road -main entrance immediately on your right.

From Liverpool via the Wallasey Tunnel

Take the Birkenhead sign from the tunnel (first exit at the roundabout) and then continue straight over the dock bridge, roundabout, cross roads and through traffic lights into Ashville Road. Go straight on at the roundabout and crossroads into Manor Hill. The school is at the top of the hill. The main entrance is the first gate on the left in Devonshire Place, immediately before the footbridge.
