Our Regular Beers (seasonals are planned for 2011)

Twyford Tipple Clip
  • Twyford Tipple 3.7% ABV
  • Twyford Tipple is an easy drinking tawny coloured bitter which has a satisfying malty flavour with a citrus hop finish. Named after the adjacent parish of Twyford, we think that this tipple is deliciously satisfying despite its lower alcoholic strength. The citrus hops give a refreshing, thirst quenching finish.

Brickworks Bitter Clip
  • Brickworks Bitter 4.2% ABV
  • A malty bitter which is chestnut in colour with a slightly nutty hint. Hops balance the maltiness to provide a well rounded best bitter. Tavistock Estate is built on the site of the Cotterell Brickworks. Looking at Old Maps shows the brickworks were built some time between 1882 and 1899. The clay soil was ideal for making bricks and the pond that sits on the corner of Stanlake Lane and Ruscombe Lane was probably created when clay was extracted. During the Second World War, brickmaking was not a priority so the brickworks closed in 1939 and never reopened.

Doodle Stout Clip
  • Doodle Stout 5.0% ABV
  • A dark stout with a delicious blend of dark malts to provide a complexity in character which draws you in for another sip. Named after the brewer's dog, who's also very dark and complex!

Coffee Stout Clip
  • Coffee Stout 5.0% ABV
  • Coffee complements the dark malts and strangely mellows the flavours to provide a smooth drinking stout which smells as good as it tastes.

Vanilla Stout Clip
  • Vanilla Stout NEW! 5.0% ABV
  • This stout is infused with vanilla pods which complement the dark malts to create a smooth drinking, deliciously dark stout.

Space Hoppy IPA Clip
  • Space Hoppy IPA NEW! 5.0% ABV
  • India Pale Ales were origninally brewed to be able to be shipped to the British people in India from the breweries in the UK. To be able to last the sea journey they had to be high in alcohol and contain loads of hops. Both the alcohol and the hops acted as preservatives to ensure the beer still tasted good when it reached India. Space Hoppy IPA is a pale golden ale and the hops impart a citrus flavour to make this beer hugely refreshing and ideal for accompanying most foods. The citrus hop character cuts through fatty or spicy foods allowing it to be equally as refreshing with food from the barbeque, or even with a curry!
