Welcome to

Gaming Anime
Konnichiwa, Welcome.
To this, the second in our series of anime games. It follows on from the
basic system started in AnimOuch! - Anime Gaming, moving the focus
from purely combat to roleplaying.
Again we have tried to create a flexible set of rules that covers the range
of popular action anime shows instead of having the rules fixed to a specific
style or a specific show. The result is a game that is simple to play whilst
reasonably simulating the many various styles of anime. The rules can also be
used for many other types of game.
As a roleplaying game AnimOuch! places many demands on the
gamesmaster (GM). Not only must he think up the settings and storylines but he
must (over)play all the NPCs and try to follow the actions of the players.
For a quick game the GM should provide full details of the setting and the
characters. For a more normal game or campaign the players should design
characters they feel comfortable with in the GM's chosen setting.
Like all roleplaying games AnimOuch! is not designed to be
competitive. Anime is fun - play the game for fun.
Hope you enjoy it.
Use of Gender
Gender terms such as he or she will be used erratically throughout this book.
Generally male terms will be used for the GM and female for the players, this
should not be presumed to mean any form of bias towards either sex.
Using this Game
This game is broken down into several major sections, each covering various
aspects of the game. We have tried to put them into a logical sequence so that
you can learn the game as you go.
If you want to leap right in and play a game then you can simply pick
characters from the Examples, read the Animation section as needed
and use the Characterisation section as reference, most of the rules are
summarised at the back.
Characterisation - character and equipment design.
Animation - the game rules.
Storylines - ideas for making your own game plots.
Examples &
More Examples- ready made characters and settings.
References - hints and tips to help you play the game
