Onslaught

Formed in Bristol in 1983 and playing a fusion of Punk and Metal, the band released their debut album 'Power from Hell' on C.O.R Records in 1985. Music For Nations signed the band and in '96 the album 'The Force' was released with new vocalist Sy Keeler. The bands style had discarded any Punk leanings in favour of a more Thrash approach imitating the likes of Slayer, Metallica and Anthrax. The occult lyrics make them eligible for this compilation and the track featured 'Fight with the Beast' is from 'The Force' album. The third album featured yet another vocalist, ex-Grim Reaper front man Steve Grimmet but the sound lacked any punch and a watered down production didn't help either. This signalled the end and the band split in 1990.

Sabbat

Sabbat

Formed in 1986 and featuring Martin Walkyier [vocals], Andy Sneap [guitars ], Frazer Craske [bass ] and Simon Negus [drums ]. The band signed to Noise Records [after the release of the demo 'Fragments of a time Forgotten] and released the debut album 'History of a Time to Come' in 1988 followed by the 'Dreamweaver' album in '89 and the final and least effective release 'Mourning has Broken' [with new vocalist Ritchie Desmond] in 1990.
The bands early use of Pagan and Witchcraft lyrics gain them access to this cd and the track featured 'A Cautionary Tale' is from the debut album. Martin Walkyier went on to form Skyclad.

Antichrist

Formed in London in Sept '84 and proudly boasting such participants as, Steaming Entrails [vocals], The Necrophilliac [bass], Hacked Giblets [guitar] and Dogs Innards [Drums]. Musically far removed from the thrash clarity of '86 when the bands first demo 'Werewolf Chaos' burst forth upon the underground. The bands style was more Death charged and the tracks were spliced to one sample or another that eased you into the nightmarish aural chaos that illumed from the indignant music. Antichrist were by far, one of the most violent bands of the time in the UK. The track 'Stocking the Ovens of Death' is taken from the 'Diminished Responsibilities' compilation album released in '87.
