Hotdog skirt with
Candy Floss top
I started collecting
Daisy only a couple of months ago, after a late-night eBay browsing session. I
somehow stumbled into some Sindy doll furniture, and spent a nostalgic hour or two
remembering the stuff me and my sister had owned in the 70s. Then I remembered
there was another doll IÕd always preferred to Sindy: Daisy! I didnÕt really
expect to find any Daisys on eBay, as IÕd always had the impression she was
little known. None of my friends in the 70s had her, they all had Sindy,
Barbie, or Pippa. Daisy was always my favourite, though: a combination of the
fact that she was smaller than Barbie or Sindy (I was always little and skinny
myself!), her fabulous blonde curls, and her cute little spaced-out face. IÕm
thrilled to find out how popular she still is, and now IÕm addicted to
collecting her!
Here are some
pictures of what IÕve managed to collect so far.

My first three dolls.
Wearing, from left to
right: Lola, Cuddles, and Candy Floss.

The wedding party.
The bride wears
Confetti, and her bridesmaids are in Frou Frou, and High Summer.

The girls looking
smart.
Dashing Daisy wears
the coat from Derby Day; in the middle is Miss Prim, and on the right is Dandy,
worn with the skirt from Check Mates.

The slumber party.
In the front are
Candy Floss and the top and pants from Spot On; at the back is the nighty from
Naughty, and the blue dressing gown is home made.

My latest
acquisition: Dashing Daisy in her tutu.
SheÕs so gorgeous,
and so 70s! The picture doesnÕt do her justice. She was NRFB when I got her,
but of course she didnÕt stay that way for long. Her only fault is the pink
mark on her forehead from the headband, but even that doesnÕt show so much in
reality as it does here. SheÕs exactly the same as the Daisy I had when I was
little. I just had to have her, so sorry to anyone I outbid on
that auction!
Some more outfits
from the My Fashion Diary collection:

The denim collection.
Left to right: Sawn
Off (or Buster) trousers worn with the headscarf from Lola as a top, Check
Mates, and the dress and bag from Out & About.

Summery Daisys.
Wearing Swiss Miss,
Peppermint Rock (no sunglasses yet), and Meadowsweet.

Cute in checks.
Hopscotch and
Huckleberry.

Brighton Belle, sadly
still no sunglasses though.

MamÕzelle skirt, worn
with Dandy top.
And a couple of
mystery outfits:

I know the striped
top is Sunstroke, but I have no idea about the trousers. IÕm not even sure if
they are DaisyÕs: did she wear such radical flares? Same thing with the pink
outfit, itÕs really cute, and fits her perfectly, but is it DaisyÕs?
