March 2008:-
New Release:- Eagle
Rock Entertainment will release "Classic Albums - John Lennon/Plastic Ono
Band" as a PAL region 2 DVD and an NTSC region 0 disc on 28th April 2008;
"PLASTIC ONO BAND was John Lennon's first solo studio album after the break
up of the Beatles. This release from the CLASSIC ALBUMS series uses interviews
with Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono and bass player Klaus Voorman, archival footage,
and detailed analysis of the original multi-track masters to tell the story
behind the canonical album."

New Release:- John's
last televised interview, the April 1975 NBC appearance on "The Tomorrow
Show", is to be included on a 'Shout! Factory' 2 DVD set scheduled for
release in the US on 1st April 2008 under the title "The Tomorrow show
with Tom Snyder: John, Paul, Tom and Ringo", the set will also include
a 1979 interview with Paul McCartney & Wings and a 1981 chat with Ringo
Starr. John's section will be the re-broadcast presentation as seen on
9th December 1980 and will therefore include additional interviews with
Lisa Robinson and Jack Douglas.
November 2007:-
New Release:- A
new book described as 'a documented historical fiction based on Lennon’s
colorful and tragic life' was published in the US as “Shoulda Been There”
by Jude Kessler on 19th November 2007, see
here for further details.
News:- An
exhibition of Lennon photographs opens at the Proud
Gallery on Buckingham Street, London as "John Lennon Remember Love"
on 7th December 2007 and runs until 2nd March 2008. "This promises to be
a revealing and intimate exhibition, bringing together the work of world-class
photographers whose archives of personal, intimate and previously unseen
exclusive images will be exhibited for the first time, alongside those
that are internationally renowned and iconic. From family photos of John
as a boy, to behind the scenes of Beatlemania and the making of his film
'Give Peace a Chance', this will be a rare opportunity to see John Lennon
as he’s never been seen before."

News:- On
9th October 2007 (John's 67th birthday) Yoko will unveil the 'Imagine Peace
Tower' in Reykjavik, Iceland which is surrounded by a Wishing well wall
on which the words "Imagine Peace" are engraved in 24 languages. Visit

August 2007:-
In the pipeline:- A
"Classic Albums" documentary on "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band" is currently
in production and will be screened by the BBC.
New Release:- A
region 2 DVD version of the 2005 Canadian TV Special "John & Yoko -
Give Peace A Song" will be released on August 27th, a region 1 disc has
been available since October 2006.

New Release:- A
new Yoko CD "Open Your Box" was released by Astalwerks in the US on 3rd
April 2007, it is available in the UK on import (this is another compilation
of re-mixes, a companion album to "Yes, I'm a Witch" which was released
earlier this year).
"The U.S. Vs. John Lennon" region 2 DVD
was released on 2nd April 2007 with an alternate cover design .
News:- The
piano on which John composed "Imagine" is to go on a global tour promoting
peace by visiting sites of past violence, the first ports of call include
the scene of President Kennedy's 1963 assassination in Dallas and the site
of Martin Luther King's 1968 assassination in Memphis.

Cassette freaks are invited to check out a new

offers details of the EMI solo cassettes released in the 1970's (including
a little known special edition of "Imagine" which was only available when
the album was first issued on cassette in 1971/72).

News:- The
producer of the "3 days in the life" project (highlights from the 10 hours
worth of videotape shot by Tony Cox in February 1970) has uploaded a dedicated

the film was due for a screening this month but was blocked at the last
minute.

News:- The
"Working class hero" documentary project (first referred to here in September
2005) has apparently been axed. "The film had been several months in the
making but at the last minute Yoko withdrew her support".

2007 but there is no confirmation of a region 2 release as yet.

"The U.S. versus John Lennon" film will
open in US theatres on 15th September 2006, UK screenings will probably
begin just before Christmas. The trailer has now found its' way onto youtube,

film "The US versus John Lennon" (covering the period 1966-1976 and receiving
support and cooperation from Yoko Ono) is now available from this

In the pipeline:-
There's little being said of the BBC documentary "John Lennon's Revolutions"
(or "Working Class Hero") but as far as we know it is still in production.
Also in the works is a book tentatively titled "Strange Days" that will
detail all Lennon recording sessions and interviews including accurate
dates and locations, this should be ready sometime in 2007.

Radio broadcasts alert:-
BBC Radio 4 will broadcast the special based on Jann Wenner's Rolling Stone
magazine interview tapes (from December 1970) on December 3rd 2005, 19:00-20:00
UK time. You should be able to hear it live on-line. Over on Radio 2 there's
a special called "Bigger than Jesus" which goes out 30 minutes after "The
Wenner Tapes" special on Radio 4, this will be available on-line for one
week following the broadcast.
New releases:-
The Region 2 DVD release of "Imagine: John Lennon" (The 1988 Documentary
film) occurred on November 14th, the region 1 version is due for December
6th............ A new book put together by Yoko called "Memories of John"
was published on December 1st and features contributions from over 70 friends,
contemporaries, and admirers.
November 2005:-
Latest releases:-
"The Dick Cavett Show - John Lennon & Yoko Ono" DVD (sadly region 1
only) was released on November 1st............. A re-mastered/re-mixed
version of "Some Time in New York City/Live Jam" was officially released
on November 7th 2005 but strangely this single disc version omits "Jamrag","Scumbag"
and "Au" and replaces them with "Happy Xmas (War is over)" and "Listen
the snow is falling".
October 2005:-
johnlennon.com, the official John
Lennon web-site is now live ........... The new best of (and remastered)
compilation "Working Class Hero: The definitive" was released on October
4th ......... Lennon Photographer Bob Gruen released his new book "The
New York Years"on October 1st.
September 2005:-
TV broadcast alert:-
BBC Television are putting together a documentary called "John Lennon's
Revolutions" (or possibly "Working Class Hero"), following its' broadcast
(in 2006?) it will apparently be released on DVD with extras (Expect to
see rare clips from the 1971 TV interview on BBC's "Parkinson")
Canadian TV are to broadcast a follow up
to "John & Yoko's year of peace" (released on DVD in 2002) the new
documentary concentrates on the song "Give peace a chance" which was of
course recorded during John & Yoko's first of three visits to Canada
in 1969, hopefully this will see a DVD release too.
