Up the Maggies footnote:
As I recall, Notts played fairly well in this one and were unlucky to lose. The defeat saw Notts drop into the relegation zone for the first time this season. The Everton scorer would later have a loan spell at Notts towards the end of his career in 1994. The day after this Everton defeat (October 2nd 1983) Spurs beat Forest 2-1 in the first league match to be shown live on Television (only the FA Cup final and some internationals had been shown live until now).
