THE LONGSTAFF'S OF BOWES

Welcome

Peruse the poetry of this site and take a walk through life,
Here you will find pages of love, happiness and strife.
Some of them may touch your heart, to bring a tear or two,
To remind you of your yesterdays and how it was for you.
You will find some wishful thinking and see the child in me,
I hope you find the happiness, I hope that you can see.
I hope that you can feel the love, for you may know the pain,
I hope that when you leave this place, you will come back again.
My door to life is open wide, please do come inside,
You are so very welcome, open up these pages wide.
If your eyes are bright with tears, I will be close by,
Because we have linked memories, please dry your tears,

Don't Cry!

MY FAVOURITE CHILDREN'S BOOKS
for
Children and The Child Inside - Twelve To Infinity

With links to websites which will tell you all you wish to know about the absolutely wonderful books below.

ANGIE SAGE'S
MAGYK
FLYTE
PHYSIK

The first three books from her wonderful series of seven books
about the wizardry of a seventh son of a seventh son .
SEPTIMUS HEAP, is born with special magykal powers
However at the moment of birth he is pronounced stillborn by the midwife,
who wraps him in a cloth and runs away with his body.
On the same night, his father, Silas finds a violet eyed baby girl lying in the snow as he trudges through the woods, with herbal medicine for his wife.
He raises the child, as his own daughter, naming her Jenna, after his wife, Sarah's, mother.
Jenna is the daughter of a murdered queen, and yes, you have guessed it,
SEPTIMUS IS VERY MUCH ALIVE!

G P TAYLOR'S

FARPEROO
Volumes 1, 2, and 3
by
MARK LAMB
from his
"DARK INVENTIONS"
WOW!
The brilliant artwork is out of this world!
I have just finished Volume 1
IT'S A CAN'T PUT IT DOWN BOOK
with LECTRICally charged atmosphere.
A tale of dark angels and strange nether worlds and a young girl who invents an astonishing fabrication of FIBS.
Of the evil stepmother who does all in her power to have her stepdaughter, Lucy, certified insane and committed to St. Mallydicks, so that she can claim Lucy's inheritance. But keeping Lucy locked up is not so easy because she has a magical habit of disappearing from locked rooms.

Although a tale of dark angels and evil monsters this is a wonderfully balanced, witty and humorous book!
I will most certainly be reading Volumes 2 and 3.

HERBIE BRENNAN'S
"THE FAERIE WARS CHRONICLES"
a series of four books ,
"Faerie Wars"
"The Purple Emperor"
"Ruler of the Realm"
and
Faerie Lord.
which is due to be released on December 26, 2007.

Young Henry Atherton finds Pyrgus Malvae, after he has been accidently transported into the garden of the cantankerous old Alan Fogarty.
Due to a malfunction of the transporter, Pyrgus, a prince, of human proportions,is shrunken in size and endowed with fully functional wings.
He returns to the Realm of Faerie with the help of Henry and Mr Fogarty, who are then themselves icaught up in the fast moving fight against the evil of Lord Black Hairstreak, who is working with the demon, Beleth, Prince of Hael, to bring down Royal House of Iris.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed reading the first two books
All of the following books in the series are on my wish list!

JOSEPH DELANEY'S
"WARDSTONE CHRONICLES"
is a series of six books which include
The Spook's Apprentice
The Spook's Secret
The Spook's Battle
and
The Spook's Curse
The books come with the warning,
"Not To Be Read After Dark! "

The Spook is getting old and time is running out! He must find a successor to step into his shoes. 12 year old Thomas Ward, a seventh son of a seventh son, has the"The Gift." He was born to be apprenticed to the Spook, who on first appearance seemed to be a distant, and cold individual. The Spook, tired of training numerous apprentices, who invariably failed him in the end, was at last, pleased with the progress of his last apprentice. Thomas was quick to learn to contain witches, bind boggarts, and exorcise ghosts, sending their reluctant spirits into the next world.
