Sawers are mentioned in the wills of Rowland Longstafe (1573) of Sedberghe, and in that of Reynold Longstafe (1587). [See appendix V., p. xcix.]. Robert Langstaffe went from Sedbergh School to S. John's College, Cambridge, in 1667. [See appendix XV., p. ccxlv; also wills of 1676, 1677, and 1682, appenpix V., pp. cii, ciii.]
