Can't quite decide whether I'm impressed or worried by the fact that there's a website dedicated to this name. Maybe it's an incentive to get married (or remain a lonely spinster destined to be eaten by Alsatians given that I cannot perpetuate the name! - Have fun in your own respective Carmichael worlds.

leslie carmichael, (licarmichael@aol.com) of: kent UK at: Mon May 27 14:29:21 2002
Currently doing some research to see if I can find out more about my fathers family i.e. My Grandfather (Donald - born Glasgow/Govan around 1890) and any history regarding his parents (my great grandparents) etc.
Good site, will need more time to look at it properly though.

I am trying to get an accurate picture as possible of where I am from. My Carmichaels started in Georgia then went to Bienville Parish, Louisiana, One son went to Santa Ana,Ca. in the 1860's. Another group went into Waco and other parts of Texas. One group settled in New Mexico and then went to San Diego. Another group left Texas and went into Tulsa and Ada Oklahoma areas. Now part of my line is here in California. We have stopped with james Washington Carmichael( Bienville Parish, LA-born 1821). He had a son Isiah Henry who went to California. He had a grandson John henry Carmichael who went to Waco and then Tulsa. An Ed Carmichael went into New Mexico and then to San Diego. I know our family is out there. Please contact us....

Martha Glover WAtson, (valkaria36@aol.com) of: Valkaria, Fl. and Bradford, NH at: Fri Sep 6 07:09:51 2002
I am searching for an Eliza Carmichael but know very little about her. I believe she lived in Northern Irland probably in the mid 1800s. Not sure of any of this. She married a Lawrence Smith probably in the Eastern United States and probably in Mass. They had two daughters, Gertrude and Susan.
Gertrude is my grandmother. She married Arthur Berkley Glover. Susan never married.
I have just started searching.
Your sight is amazing. I'm also researching my Glover family and I can't find any such web sight like this one.
Thanks for giving so much to look at.
Martha Glover Watson
