James Henry Carmichael, jr., (carmichael32@cs.com) of: Salisbury, NC, USA at: Tue Jan 9 05:51:01 2001
"Hey!" to all the distant relatives, et alia. Am wishing to trace my family back to Scotland. Any help is much appreciated. My grandfather was John David Carmichael, originally from Delphi, Indiana. His father was Clyde. (My grandfather had a much younger half-brother, Norman.) According to my father, the family story about our ancestor is that he left Scotland with his bride as he was considered a scoundrel by his in-laws (and probably others) and gambled away her jewelry on the ship on the way to America.

Paul J Carmichael, (pauljcarmichael@aol.com) of: South Lanarkshire, Scotland at: Wed Jan 10 11:32:07 2001
Fantastic site, very well researched and well written, I really enjoyed loking through this site and like most people who visited this site, I consider myself to be very patriotic. Thus the reason why it was great to find out so much more than I already knew about my clan heritage. Keep up the good work and remember, "Toujours Prest".

Bryan J. Carmichael, (Carmizzy5126@msn.com) of: Tampa,Fla. at: Mon Jan 22 22:50:23 2001
I had know idea that there was so much history behind my name...

Kathryn Carmichael Wells, (wellsk@advisory.com) of: Arlington, VA at: Tue Jan 23 18:19:27 2001
My grandmother is Mae Carmichael of Savannah, GA. A relative wrote a book on the seven Carmichael families of the United States (not sure of the exact title). According to this book, our family was traced to Archibald Carmichael who immigrated from the Alpin (not sure of spelling) region of Scotland in the late 1700s. He was married and came with a seven year old daughter, Katherine.
Would like to hear from any others within this branch of the Carmichael family.

Hello to all you Carmichael's out there. This is a wonderful site!!!! I, too, have recently started researching my "roots". I am the great-granddaughter of John Chrisly/Christley Carmichael. He was born in Washington Co., TN. The family then migrated to Sarcoxie, MO then on to Blackwell, OK. Would love to share any info I may have as well as receive any info you may have. I will be passing this info on to other Carmichael's. Hope to hear from you soon.

Wonderful to have discovered your site. I'm new to this but want to track details of my Grandfather (Archie Carmichael) who left Lismore area in Argyll in mid to late 1800's; became Head of Detectives in Glasgow Police.
I have no DOB or DOD. I hope to gain (and perhaps contribute to) your database Yours aye Archie

John Duncan McIntyre, (tojdm@yahoo.com) of: Texas at: Tue Mar 27 19:49:48 2001
I came to your page via a link I have on my site. I was checking my links, when I realized how much the referenced sites have grown in the last 3 years and how much additional information they provide.
Your section on John McIntyre b: 1767, d: 1854 and his descendants tie directly into the information I have. I've had data on those that came after his son, John and wife Sally McDonald, but not his other children. By the way John's father was Donald McIntyre from Glenoe, Scotland and he three other children, Duncan, Archibald, and Daniel.
If you're interested in the additional information that I have on this family, visit my web site at: http://www.hal-pc.org/~jdm or if you have any questions, drop me an email. I have recently come by a new batch old family letters and documents that I am presently going through. I'm hoping that these will shed additional light on the family.
We had a cousin's reunion last year and were unaware just how many cousins we have.
I appreciate all the hard work you have put into your research and your site, it has sure helped round out my data.

Can anyone Please help me? I am looking for a cousin, Thomas Carmichael, born abt may 1885, in Smallheath, Birmingham, England. As a child his family moved to Govan, Glasgow. He became a Motor Engineer and in 1908 stayed in Chalfont, St Peter, Bucks, where he worked for a Mr Fallance. As far as I know he remained a Bachelor. He disapeared in abt 1922, never to be heard of again. I am also looking for more cousins. William Carmichael married a Mary Wilson in 1848 in Alloa, Scotland. Mary died and he then married Mary McFarlane in 1872, at Campletown, Argyll. William had 5 sons, John McFarlane C was born 1873 in West Kilbride. Duncan C was born abt 1874 in Kilchoman. William C was born abt 1875 in Kilchoman. Colin C was born abt 1878 in Govan, he later married Janet Morrison Wilson in 1899. Henry C, born 1882 at Bruchladich in Kilchoman, married Margaret McLlwraith in 1909, Airdrie. I look forward to hearing from someone. Thanks.
