He passed away in Mar 1984. His father Corbin (I think) Carmichael who died in the middle 1940's. Not sure about my grandmother's name, but Ophelia Chandler Carmichael may be correct. My father was born in Catoosa County Georgia in July, 1907. Brothers: Vernon, Al, and Wilson. Sisters: Tillie, Sybil, Virgie, and Chloe (Pete). Family lore has it that this branch of the Carmichael clan started when one of them fled Indiana to escape imprisonment for horse thievery.
