Great opportunity to meet other descendants..and learn more about family tree..
Daniel Carmichael, left Ireland and arrived in North Carolina (USA)then to Georgia. He had a son, William, who moved to Alabama. William and his wife, had 4 sons and 2 daughters.
After dialogue with Julia Carmichael, we feel that these childrens actual names were:
George Jackson, Daniel Lindsey, James Fletcher, James, William, Ellen Eady, and Sarah (possibly Susan if not transcribed by the census properly).
Looking for anyone else with information on this family tree..

This message is addressed to Jimmy, who is posted on the Deal/Diehl list, with names of Carmichael and Peter Deal. I too, have a Peter Deal immigrant from Germany, circa late 1780's. Wife of Peter Deal is unknown. I too, have a Carmichael line, with my earliest-know immigrant ancestor being John Carmichael Sr., then his son, John Carmichael Jr., from Scotland. My John Carmichael Sr. married Mary McCullom; John Jr. married Rhoda Cook. This early Carmichael line migrated from New Jersey, to Washington Co., Pa., and then to Knox Co., Ohio.
Please send me your thoughts on whether either, both, or none of my mentioned lines are related to yours.

Tim Powys-Lybbe, (tim@southfrm.demon.co.uk) of: Windsor, England at: Sat Sep 26 18:00:24 1998
Descendant (I think) of James Carmichael who married Marion Campbell in the 16th C, then through their son Walter who married Grizzle, to their daughter Marion who married a Stewart leading through three generations of Stewarts to some Trotters of which my grandmother was a descendant. Evidence is fair for all this but not yet solid!

I'm researching the family of Donald Carmichael, born on Islay, Scotland, August 31, 1807. Donald married Margaret Gilchrist, about 1850, in Victoria County, Ontario, Canada, and died there in 1888. Their children, Janet (m. Irwin), Alexander, Margaret (m. Graham), and Mary (m. Graham?)all went to the Canadian west after the 1880's, to the Newdale and Clanwilliam areas of Manitoba, and to Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. The history of another daughter, Annie, is unknown. A Diana Gilchrist,(m. McNabb) born about 1846, was apparently the half-sister of the Carmichael children. I'd be happy to hear from anyone related to these Carmichaels!
