You have done a magnificent job creating a place to pool the information you are gathering. In your Worldwide Tree, the listing for John Atlas Carmichael/Sallie Wilson lists a son Albert A. with a son Mike. Mike is my 2nd cousin. His father is Freddy R. (Raymond) who is listed as third child. There is no Albert A s/o John Atlas. I hope you keep up the good work.

Robert Brian Stewart, (stewartr@compuserve.com) of: Redmond, Washington State at: Wed Apr 8 06:40:42 1998 I am descended from one (William) Bruce Carmichael, whose son, James Bruce Carmichael (b. 1800) emigrated to Canada in 1816 and changed his name to Stewart, that of his mother, Phoebe Stewart. I found this family in the database, and it's uncanny how closely the data matches my own. I imagine that the family hasn't been together at this level, in the position to trade information, since 1930 sometime. If the KING family of Forks, Washington is out there, contact me. We share a common ancestors, you and I: John Stewart Sr., son of James Bruce, and Jane Graham. My call for family aside, I'd like to say hello to fellow Carmichael folks out there. We Carmichaels and Stewarts have an ancient association. What better place to find my roots than here?

Michael R. Franklin, (Dontjump@AOL.com) of: Houston, Texas at: Thu Apr 23 01:25:32 1998 Constant Joesph Carmichael was my mothers gr-gr-grandfather. I am just now beginning to get into the Genealogy thing. I stated reaching Camichael, my mother maiden name and found you sight. I was floored at the reseach ! I had only a photo copy of the C.J. and Mary A. Carmichael story. I am real curious as to where you obtained you copy. Was it from a family member or was it a publised book. My great uncle gave me this copy. The grand kids that requested that C.J. write a history or biography which was Ray Davis and Oak. Ray Davis was my mothers father. I just started digging for the gap of info from C.J and Mary A to Joesph Daniel CArmichael (mother's grandfather) to currnet family times, dates and births from my mother. Wow this is great ! Thanks for all the great info !! As soon as I update I'll send you what I have to farther update the Camichael Tree !

I am a descendant of James Gilletly(Gillitie)of Caputh Perthshire and Christina (Christian) Carmichael of Tulliallan Perthshire. Christina and James moved from Scotland to Thornhill (Toronto, Ontario now)in approx 1822 and then Christina moved to Akron, Ohio in about 1860 where her sons and grandson worked for Quaker Oates as coopers. Christina lived to be more than 93 years old. I will send you an Adobe Acrobat 3.0 document explaining some of this. Regards Bill Dunn

Stephen Dean Lucas, (sdlucas@azstarnet.com) of: Tucson, Arizona, USA at: Mon May 4 18:26:29 1998 My great-grandfather Stephen Dean met and married Susan Carmichael in Iowa. Her parents were William Carmicmael and Eliza Stuart of Baltimore, Maryland. I have found the family in the 1820 census in Baltimore, but haven't found any other records to continue my search. Do you have any Carmichaels in Baltimore in the early 1800's? I came across another spelling variant in some old immigration records: Carmuckhell. Of course, that bit of nastiness must have seemed trifling compared to the treatment he must have gotten in the old country. I'd appreciate any help you can give me. I have other Scots ancestors up there in the tree, but these are the closest and most personal to me. Thank You, Steve
