also being researched by Barbara KNAPP of Canada. Late 1700s early
1800s - any further info would be greedily gobblled up with grateful

2nd message - so excited at finding this site -
now I have collected my thoughts here is some proper information!
Happy New Year to all Carmichaels. Do you know there is to be a great
Clan Carmichael Gathering in Scotland in the year 2000? The Chief
Richard is on the internet but I haven't got his e-mail to hand. Just
search for Clan Lands, or Carmichael Estates, Lanarkshire, Scotland
and you will find him. My Carmichaels come from County Londonderry,
Dungiven and Tirgoland. My grandfather Fred Carmichael (who for our
American readers purchased a right hand drive 1937 Packard 1500
Touring sedan) was born in Wigston just outside Leicester. His elder
siblings William, Frank twins James and Mabel (christened Maria) were
born in Dungiven of a Protestant family. His father was called
Thomas, and mother called Hepzibah Smith (fron Hinckley England) and
Thomas was the footman to the folk at the big house in dungiven
called Pellipar House. He and my great grandmother were married on
Christmas eve. All my date details are in another house but having
found this site will update you within the next month or so. He had a
younger brother called Archibald Dunn and a sister called Bessie who
died young. I was thrilled to bet in touch with my cousin Joseph some
years ago and he farms the land where my Great-grandfather's
grandfather was born. I also am in touch with my cousin Rachel (good
title for a book) in Belfast. Would love to hear from any others who
have County Londonderry ancestors. There were Carmichaels who settled
in County Antrim but they are not 'mine'. Hope you link up with our
Chief. Greetings to you all, Stephanie

You're website has been very helpful in locating
our relatives. We have some information to send you. As soon as we
get it compiled, we'll e-mail it to you. We have found back to
Archibald Carmichael born 4 Sep. 1754 in Appin Parrish, Argyll,
Scotland. Need help finding his parents. We have information showing
two different sets of parents. His wife was Elizabeth Nix or Hicks.
We're glad to have found so many Carmichael's. If this reunion is for
real, we would like info. Richard and Deena Carmichael

My father, William L. Carmichael (b.1943), moved
to Oregon from Santa Cruz, California in 1968. His father, William
Harold Carmichael (b.1911) grew up in Fresno around 1920. My
immediate ancestors go back to Tennessee, where three out of four
boys in our line died in the Civil War. My father has all the details
on this. Email him at bill@outlawnet.com to ask any questions or tie
us into the larger picture. He knows quite a bit about the Civil War
battles that Carmichaels were involved in, bith for the North and the
South. Has anyone heard of the Carmichael Inn in the Clarksville,
Tennessee, area? I'd be interested in visiting Scotland to see where
my family came from. (Any comments/views on the Internet are mine and
not Intel's.) --Sorry, I have to put that! We have a few Carmichaels
here at Intel, too. This 2000 reunion would be a lot of fun -- who's paying?

was divorced from Harry Carmichael somewhere around 1930 in
California...Stockton, Sacramento, San Francisco area. He (Harry)
died in a VA hospital in San Jose or Palo Alto in 1943. I am looking
