Topgear voted the 928 GTS as one of the worlds coolest cars ever made.

19th in their list 4th Sept. 2003.

19 - Porsche 928 GTS
The nearest thing to a muscle car that Porsche has ever made. Most un-German. The 928 was already getting a bit past it when the most powerful GTS, with its 345bhp 5.5-litre V8 nestling under the bonnet and rear wing stuck on its rounded end, came out. But it still looked brilliant, had buckets of torque and cracked a top speed of 171mph. Colin Ryan

The following is an extract from "Clarkson on Cars", 1996

Me, I've always preferred the Porsche 928, the Big Daddy. At £73,000, it is reassuringly expensive and it is capable of achieving speeds far in excess of what is practically possible. It also has a proper engine where engines should be - at the front. Lift the bonnet and you are greeted with the sight of a huge 5.4 litre, quad cam, 32 valve monster which sends 350 brake horsepower to the back wheels through a rear mounted five speed manual gearbox. Or, in my case, a four speed automatic. This is all good beefcake stuff.

Auto with a specialy made Blueflame exhaust system Owned by me since 4th Sept. 1999. 134,600miles. Engine rebuild at 124,000miles
