The United Fools Union

As far back as we can find records, "characters", most often a Fool or an Animal, have been an integral part of Morris Dance. Today, many Morris clubs include one or other or both in their performances. The Union believes that Foolery (Animalery? - shurely shome mishtake!) deserves, er, something or other.

What's going on here, then?

We're building the OFFICIAL site to tell the world about us, and to tell each other who (or what) we are. It will take time, so please be patient.

Can I help?

Yes, please! If you are a Fool or an Animal, e-mail me, Sandy Glover, of St Albans Morris Men. We want names, pictures, stories, histories, anecdotes, mersidotes, anything that puts the Fool back where he or she belongs, or brings out the Animal in all of us. I want all the help I can get.

All contributions will be gratefully received; they may be equally gratefully dumped, but probably not.
