'This is the second Kite Festival at Harewood House,Leeds and this year the event is being held on the North Front which is a beautiful location directly infront of the main House.

Harewood House extend an open invitation to all insured Kite Fliers to attend this event on production of a current kite club membership card.Camping is free from 12noon Friday 16th May through to 2pm Monday 19th May.The camping area is adjacent to the arena,there is a purpose built toilet block and water.

Whether you are a day visitor or camping enter the grounds via the main entrance, continue forward to the admission barrier. On production of your kite club card you will be admitted free. Follow the signs 'Kite Fliers Camping' which lead past the main house on your left. Bear right into the car park,immediately past the stone built toilet block on your right, turn right up the hill to the camping area.'

This kite festival has the usual laid back approach with an arena if required, PA if absolutely necessary, with fliers enjoying the unhurried ambience.

Kitefliers cars, tents, caravans, vans etc are allowed onto the flying field but only if the ground conditions are good.

We plan to organise an Indian Take Away for the Saturday evening, please could you give an indication of numbers of takers when you apply for the car/camping pass. 

There will also be an auction on the Saturday evening and the usual arrangement for sampling the local liquid produce. 

Please be aware our only source of income is from the auction and camping fees so please be generous.

Passes will be sent out via email in early July - they are numbered, please do not forward them to others.

Kite Fliers Access 5:00pm Friday – 10:00am Monday
House Open 1:00pm – 4:30pm

Camping fee £5 for 1 night, £10 for 2 or more nights

Open fires or barbeques are not allowed.

Dogs are not allowed on site as there are livestock about
