By Car

This is the recommended route to find Shenton Station.

Shenton Station is situated midway between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Hinckley in Leicestershire and is signposted from both the A444 and A447 trunk roads as the Bosworth Battlefield on brown tourist signs. It is situated at the heart of the Battlefield which is south of the town of Market Bosworth. The Station is some distance from the actual village of Shenton - do not park in the village (if you have passed under the canal aqueduct (rather like a short tunnel) and into the village, you have gone the wrong way!).

Once approaching the Battlefield site look out for the Shenton Station signs, do not follow the signs the Battlefield Visitor Centre, unless you wish to walk from there to the station, about 10-15 mins down the hill.

Entrance to Shenton Station Car Park The entrance to the car park is situated on a bend with a farm opposite. It has a large wooden gate with appropriate signage for the Station and the Pottery that is also located there. On turning into the car park the station is directly in front of you.

The car park is a large gravelled area with toilets situated near the entrance.

Please note as this is a Council run car park there is a parking fee of about £2.50.

On the map below the Battlefield area is marked by the crossed swords and the 1485 number.

At the junction turn left passing King Richards field on the right.
