A mere 4 hours flying time from the UK brings you to Fuerteventura. It is the driest, least developed and has the longest coastline of all the Canary Islands. The beaches are by far the best in the Canaries. The sand being blown in from the Sahara on the Kalima wind. Three thousand hours of sunshine, weather on a par with Florida ( without the hurricanes ) and a growing list of quality activities makes this the perfect year round destination.

Being an island there are many activities on the sea. Windsurfing and kitesurfing are very popular due to the warm and consistent winds. Fishing is becoming popular both from the shore and from boats. Scuba diving is a joy in the crystal clear waters. Golf is also taking hold in Fuerteventura with two European tour quality courses within 5 minutes of our house.

There is a lot of variety on Fuerteventura if you want to get away from the beach. The towns of Betancuria and Pajara are particularly beautiful. Or if you can brave the trip visit the American Star shipwreck before it disappears.

Situated between the airport and the resort town of Caleta De Fuste our house is in the ideal location. A 30 minute drive or bus journey will take you to the dunes of Corralejo, a 45 minute journey and you can enjoy the vast stretches of quiet beaches at Sotavento in the South.
