Pakistan is the ninth most populous country in the world with over 141 million people (based on US Census Bureau) living in seventy seven million hectares of land. It faces immense challenges as a developing nation. Seventy percent of the total population of Pakistan lives in rural areas with lack of resources, facilities, and job opportunities. The rural population consists of farm and non- farm households.
IRM is playing a vital role in the development of low-income areas. it creates awareness in the community about their socio-economic problems and encourages people to find solutions at the community level. IRM's aim is to strengthen communitites by providing them job opportunities, vocational and entrepreneurship development training and reduce their dependency upon NGO's. IRM also assists the community to become self-employed and self-reliant. IRM was established in July 1996.
