Scottish Branch

Welcome to the local site for the Morris Marina Owners Club in Scotland .

Although the climate has not been as friendly to Marina, Itals or their derivatives in this part of the UK as apposed to others; there is still a loyal and resilient (and stubborn) element who aim to preserve as many of these much maligned models for future generations to appreciate.

That said, we are a friendly bunch and are always happy to provide advice, reassurance and that much needed shoulder to cry on when nothing seems to be going right!

Our area is sadly too wide to allow us to host regular meets. However, we instead try to all attend as many classic car shows as possible during the show season (May to September) where we all can meet up.

Our Cars (so far…):

Stuart’s TC

My own model is a 1972 Mk1, 1.8TC saloon and, although it is open to some debate, the colour is mallard green (NOT brown!). It was registered in Ayr on 1st of August 1972 and was used regularly (and for caravanning holidays) for 10 years until it was laid up in a barn and forgotten about. It still bears its last tax disc which expired in September 1982! After 20 years it was offered to the club and underwent a mild restoration. Though mechanically sound it needs some cosmetic work now including new wings, front panel and a re-spray. Hopefully this will be done before show season this year!

Rod’s Fleet

This is only part of Rod’s fleet. His Mk1 element consists of this very original van and 1.3 saloon.

Part two of Rod’s fleet consists of two Mk 2s; his “sandglow” saloon and green coupe. Rod actually has a host of other classic cars besides Marinas and also has a number of commercials, including a 70s car transporter! (Well, it’s the only way he could get all his Marinas to the one show!). We look forward to seeing them at a show soon.

And finally…

I am in the process of getting more pictures of our Scottish based Marinas . So, if you have one, please email me with your pictures and some history and I shall add them to our page.

Keep watching this page for updates!

All the best,
