For my sins I have volunteered to act as the local area representative of the club

Bedfordshire - Buckinghamshire - Hertfordshire - Cambridgeshire

When I joined the club a couple of years ago, I asked myself what the club could do for me and whether I could do anything for the club and it’s members. I made a list of the things I would like as a member and I guess that in turn, that I wouldn’t mind getting involved in and this forms the basis of my ideas.

Local point of contact for information from the club (parts availability etc.)
Local knowledge of Marina & Ital friendly suppliers (a recommendation always helps)
Organise club entries at local classic car shows
A shoulder to cry on when the cars play up
Encourage more local membership

If any of you can think of anything else that would be good to have locally, let me know.

We are less than 20 members all told and to give the members a chance to meet one another, I thought that I would kick off by organising entry to a local car show or two.

The first one was on Sunday 1^st May 2005 at the Shuttleworth Collection near Biggleswade (just off the A1) in Bedfordshire, here are a few pictures.

Saturday 10th - Sunday 11th June 2006	The National 2006 and our 21st Anniversary. This year in beautiful North Norfolk at Kelling Heath Park. Over two days with a car run on Saturday afternoon and Show & Shine on Sunday - full event itinerary now published - Click Here. Kelling Heath Park is set in 250 acres of heathland and forest and has overnight camping and touring caravan sites. Sunday 6th August	BL/BMC Spares Day - Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. Organised by The Cambridge-Oxford Owners Club - the biggest and probably the best all BMC & BL event in the country - last year we had 29 Marinas & Itals on our stand - let's make it more in 2006. Even if you can’t get your car to any of these shows, how about car sharing with another club member who is going? Let me know if you are prepared to share your car or if you could be looking for a car to share. I guess that it would mean sharing petrol and other costs, but it makes for company on the journey and a built in map-reader.
