Katie originally studied piano, accompaniment and voice at the Royal College of Music, London.
Her teaching career has been varied. She has experienced primary, secondary, special needs situations and adult education. Particular study of aural training was inspired through her work in a school for the blind.
Two years spent in Hungary studying the Kodály system of teaching, gaining diplomas in Suzuki piano teaching (London), and Diacroze movement (Manchester) all reinforced the strong belief that however we enjoy our music, the aural work is the most vital.
Katie is currently the British Kodály representative for North-West England. She has run an adult elementary to intermediate course as part of the BKA accredited study programme in Manchester for the last 4 years.

Gloria was trained at the Northern School of Music, Manchester and at London University. She was introduced to the concepts of Kodály in 1977, when studying with internationally renowned teacher Kato Havas. She is now Kato’s international representative in Europe.
More recently, Gloria ran the children’s Kodály classes on the Junior Strings Project at the Royal Northern College of Music. This continued until she wished to be more involved with the community and to devote more time to her own private piano teaching. The childrens Kodály classes which we currently offer are a part of the result.
