Mel was signed by Peter Cormack
in the hastily assembled squad of 2001 and established
himself in the team. Able to play at left back or
midfield he has become McCormicks choice of starting
left back.
He was however dropped from the
team for a few weeks with the manager opting for Graham
Dale, one of his recruits during the january 2003
transfer window but regained his place.
Mel has grown in stature and confidance
throughout the season and enjoys taking on opposing
defenders down the left wing forming an essential
link in the build up play down that side.
