At Stirling Albion Alex was a prolific
goal scorer and was named the SFA young player of
the year for 2001/2002. It was these qualities which
attracted Douglas Rae and on which he parted with
£50,000 , a substantial fee for any Scottish
club, not just in the third division.
Alex proved his worth for the Ton,
quickly becoming a fans favourite with his excellent
strike rate and over the season secured three Bells
Player of the Month awards and was voted the Bells
Third Division player of the year.
Although the championship win was a team effort I'm
sure many will agree that Alex's goals went a long
way to securing that.
Although not the strongest of players
Alex fair makes up for that with his pace and skill
leaving defenders in his wake or tied up in knots.
He creates many chances for himself and slots them
away with regularity.
Many thought Alex would be snapped
up by a higher league team but to the delight of the
Ton support it seems we will have him for at least
another year.
