What an amazing day. I'm sure every fan enjoyed
and will remember that day for ever.
Here are a few stories of our day, with my
own night to start.
"Great night in
the Yard. Was at home going to have a few refreshments
with the other half but my erse was making buttons
to get into Greenock and enjoy the atmosphere.
Had an inkling that the Yard would have Morton
supporters celebrating and after a recommendation
by BOBO on here then my mind was made up, off
the burd and I went dropping the weins off to
my mother. So of to the Yard at 10 oclock. Took
the car down (didnt have any drink before then!)
and was parked outside the Yard but decided
against it- I'm glad I did now. Got to the door
but bouncer told us we couldnt get in because
it was full but luckily changed his mind. Anyway
wasn't disappointed with the atmosphere and
when Janne and co came in I couldn't believe
it, I was in my element. Left at 11.25 rushed
over to Word Up and coincidently Janne etc were
getting out of a taxi. I knew the great night
would continue. Inside Janne and Phil were exceptional,
two great guys joining in on our celebrations
obviously enjoying themselves. "Championies"
" Oh Janne Janne.." My burd got their
autographs. Then outside a wee group sang homage
to Janne who again joined in wholeheartedly.
Brilliant even despite the best efforts of the
Cellic riff raff. Anyway thats my wee story
of my Championship winning Saturday celebrations.
A perfect ending to a perfect day. You are my
Morton........" -Craig
"Holding aloft the
trophy in The Yard and kissing it. Best kiss
ive ever had!!!!!!" -Ironside
"Last nite quite
bout back of 11, jani, phil and stu mcdonald
came in a few fans including myself joined them
for a bouncy, brilliant. only then jani asks
us to be quiet a hush fell over and the wee
man let rip with CHAMPIONEES!!! Absolutely fantastic.
Will post more when the come flooding in when
i sober up properly." -Scotto
"I'll bloody remember
that goal for the rest of my life!!!!!! Oh aye
and i got my sister and mother doing the bouncy
a few times (if you know my mother then you
would find it funny.)" -Davie B
"MORTON WIN 1-0
THE ETERNAL PRIZE IS JESUS. If you walked back
into the centre of town you'll know what i'm
talking about :-)" -Jim
"The game was fantastic
but there was a huge queue for the ladies and
when Bannerman scored I just made it back into
the cow shed but I wasn't near my pals so had
no one to hug! Made up for it though - pulled
in the cow shed! Fantastic day, got my picture
taken at the sign Jim was talking about, getting
framed for my room! -Dodgy Tams Sister
"The puzzled/scared
look on Robbie Hendersons face when we started
chanting he was man of the match. Classic. He
was though..........Jumping around with Jani
outside Word Up'll live long in the memory.
That is the coolest wee guy you could ever meet.
And the Spinnaker on Friday was brilliant. Although,
the flashbacks of Mr T impersonations are beginning
to worry me. Shamone fool!" - Boozehound
"The sign that Jim
and Leanne were talking about, definitely! BTW
Jim, I want a copy of that photo! My da' getting
all the papers this morning (inc. the News of
the Screws) except the Sunday Torygraph as he
knew it wouldn't have anything about the 'ton
in it. Dedication or what? Apart from that;
the goal, the subsequent chaos in the cowshed
(me and my sis got shoved towards the pitch
in the crush and were only saved by the crush
barriers - so that's what they're for!) and
the bursting feeling as my bladder tried to
cope with one too many pints (didn't want to
go to the loo in case I missed something) Scotty
Bannerman is now a leg-end. Official.Also the
Spinny before the game. And my da' giving me
his circa 1979 umbro hoopy morton top (it doesn't
fit him anymore) Have been wearing it since,
and planning to wear it for all my exams - 'cept
practicals, methinks doctors might not be too
pleased at that (unless I end up at Inverclyde
Royal...you never know...)" -Laura McB
"Haha, yeah, the
eternal prize is Jesus thing was quite amusing!
The whole day was brilliant, walking up to the
game with the away shirt on, seeing loads of
other people walking up, going past the Yard
and hearing everyone singing and shouting, walking
into Cappielow and seeing such a big crowd,
the whistling and cheering when the cheerleaders
walked round (took me a while to realise wha
everyone was shouting at, was on the fone at
the time trying to find out where my mate was,
started laughing as soon as i realised!).....just
everything about the whole day was fantastic,
and dave mcG hopping across the pitch with the
rest of the players doing the bouncy at the
end!" -Irn Bru
