To mark these significant events, the BBC has commissioned Salford based composer Alan Edward Williams (Reader in Music at Alan William's oratorio Wonder: A Scientific Oratorio will be premiered at the Maxwell Hall,
In partnership with Manchester
University Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre, the performances will also feature
unique film footage and rarely seen images of deep space taken by the Lovell
telescope in Jodrell, plus further imagery from NASA and BBC archives. To support and enhance the concert
experience, the performance space will be transformed to transport us to
'other worlds' through large-scale art installations and special lighting
