Captured with a Meade DSI colour CCD camera.  Fragment B.

The night was very misty as can be seen from the image.  This image is made up of 50 X 4 second exposures captured with the Meade DSI colour camera on my 222mm f/7.9 Newtonian with a .5 focal reducer.  I was very surprised at the speed this fragment traveled in such a short time.  The next 5 images show just how far it did travel in around 50 minutes.

Do you know what the cause of this very bright screen during capture ?

Cosmic hits ? 27-28th April,  2006

This was the last sequence of the night and it looks like I got some kind of hit whether its a cosmic hit or what ever it was.

1.3 meg avi cosmic hit ?
This is an AVI sequence made up of the bitmap images.  This AVI is 1.3 meg.
Do you know what the cause of this is ?

This is a series of 50 images at 11 seconds each.  Again it was misty which seems to be a normal state of affairs these days.  Images captured in .bmp format and stacked in Registax.

This again is a series of 50 images at 15 seconds each.  Seems I have "dust bunnies" somewhere in the optical train.

This is a stack of the above 2 images which shows just how far the comet travels in a very short time.  This shows the dust on the chip or 135 mm lens even better which reuins a nice image.

Here I have tried to get rid of the "dust bunnies" using Gimp but I did not have too much success.  I tried the idea of duplicating the layer,  then blurring the top layer so that no stars or comet was seen.  Then subtracting the blurred image from the comet image.

Here is version 2.
Having seen this dust donut or whatever "pet name" you have for these little pest I had to do something about it so here I made a synthetic dark frame using iPrep.   This image I used the subract feature of Gimp to try and get rid of the dust bunnies.

Here is version 3.
In this image I used the same dark frame but this time I used the Difference feature to try and get rid of the dust bunnies.
