Hand Made in Wales
No software, no scripts, no fuss. No ActiveX, no Flash, no cookies. No security alerts, no special requirements, no incompatibility. Just plain, simple HTML. Raw code manipulated by hand, man and machine in harmony, often in the dark. Old-school, down to earth, effective. Does what it needs to and nothing more. Just like everything should be. Life is too complicated as it is...

I made these. Some for myself, some for others. Mostly lighting related, that`s what interests me. Don`t let the look of this weird little "hub" page fool you, go ahead, try them:

The Bulb Museum - bulbmuseum.net
Currently undergoing a complete re-design, this was the first "proper" site I built. Re-launch due this summer at long last. Please excuse the vast chunks of unfinished business, other things got in the way of completion.

Ebay "About Me" page
This was my first venture into the world of hand made HTML. It was the only way to do it with the Ebay system, asides their dull templates. This page pretended to be a web-site for a while. It dissapeared once I launched the Bulb Museum site but was re-instated again in the autumn of 2004.

How to bring a Century-old light bulb back to life
The story of a ruby-red carbon filament lamp that was injured by the postal service but got a second chance to shine. Plain and simple page compiled as part of a Bulb Forum posting.

Christmas Displays Archive - displays.bulbmuseum.net
It`s the best time of year in my opinion and I always go overboard with the lights. All in the best possible taste, of course. Current record 12000+ and getting bigger every year! Almost complete archive since 1996 with only one missing year.

The Torch Reviews Site - torchreviews.net
Otherwise known as flashlights, this site was the result of several years of testing and evaluation of a whole load of torches. It ran from 2001 - 2005 but unfortunately I lost interest in writing the reviews, especially as it was never too popular and took so long to complete each one. This site is no longer online, but the domain remains for now as I have a whole load of torches to sell soon and I plan to use the space to list them.

Tann Synchronome Limited - tann.synchronome.net
My day-job. Fire alarm specilists, "Bell Ringers since 1962". Trying to get people to realise that not all web addresses begin "www dot" led me to stop giving out this subdomain address, which does not work with Ws added at the beginning. It was done this way as the original plan, later put on hold, called for several subdomains (downloads, news, webmail, etc). But honestly, what can you do? Lesson learned, now I tell everyone to just type "synchronome.net" and it`ll work.

The Fire Alarm Museum - fire.bulbmuseum.net
Related to my day-job, and my general collector`s urges, here`s what happens when someone who won`t throw anything away, and wants to know how it all operates inside, ends up working in a job that often means replacing old fire alarm equipment. Sometimes *very* old fire alarm equipment. Not a lot on this page for now, but in real life the collection keeps on growong and growing. I`m going to run out of room at the office before long!

When I won a tin of biscuits on the radio!
Once there was a radio show presented by two Northern tosspots called Mark and Lard. They had a competition that I entered and subsequently won. And the prize I chose was a tin of biscuits. And they were very nice. Then I started this page to celebrate, but promptly forgot about it. Three years later it has been re-discovered and finished so you too can read the silly story of the only thing I`ve ever won in a radio competition.

I didn`t make this one, but use it all the time:

Get Firefox - faster, safer, better

You won`t regret it. Free download, heaps of free extensions to make it sing and dance, or keep it simple, safe and secure for fast and worry free brrowsing. Recommended! Also try Thunderbird for e-mail and rid yourself of the worries of mail-borne worms, virusses and spam. Nothing personal against Microsoft but their web products have more holes in them than swiss cheese.
