Personal Statement: I am a Physical Training Instructor in the Royal Marine Reserve (RMR) and specialise in improving recruits endurance, strength and circuit training abilities so that they can pass the arduous Commando tests. I now enjoy the challenge of helping people from all walks of life to improve their health and reach their full potential. I worked as a freelance Personal Trainer at Fitness First Portsmouth for 10 months in 2005, carrying out induction’s, fitness assessments, taking part in exercise classes and training people from the age of 16 to 65 on the CV machines, weights and 1:1 circuits/boxing and kickboxing exercise. Due to my commitments within the RMR and the limited time that Fitness First allowed me for time off I decided to leave and concentrate more on house calls and outdoors training. I was born in Portsmouth and my parents still live there and I have several long term clients from the area. My girlfriend has recently brought a house in Burpham, Guildford so I will be moving up there once I have established a good foundation of clients. I will still be doing my RMR training with the occasional weekend and 2 week courses away on exercise and training with them (which I will post under the Times link) so will be back in Portsmouth for that catching up with my friends and family and training my Portsmouth clients if they are available when I am down there. ![]() Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Sports Science Degree, NCFE Sports Coaching Award, Royal Marine Reserve PTI Level 2, First Aid Certificate Specialities: Circuit training, fitness assessment and training programmes, exercise for specific populations, exercise physiology and nutrition, applied sports psychology, boxing / kickboxing exercise, outdoor runs and circuits. Experience: A Sports Science background and time spent training with the RMR has developed my awareness and skills of how to train people to go that ‘extra mile’ and working at Fitness First with many different clients and other personal trainers has increased my all-round knowledge of fitness training. Interests: Sport, physical training, travelling, photography, music and cinema. Places I’ve travelled to so far: London, Edinburgh, Paris, New York, St Louis, Kansas City Missouri (5 months Uni Exchange), Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Singapore, Bangkok, Koh Samui, Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Railey Krabi, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Norway, Ibiza.
