1. How long have you been djing ?
Mochar - I have been Djing for about 6 years after becoming disillusioned
with producing!
Wilson - Been djing around 12 years, ever since I was at University.
2. How did you get into dj'ing ?
Mochar - I was heavily into production and used to buy loads of vinyl to sample.
I used to play around on some old record players when I was in my
early teens and DJ'd at some parties for friends etc. I got the bug
and decided to buy some 1210s - I guess I have never looked back!
Wilson - My Flatmate at Edinburgh University where I was studying Music, was a
Funk & Soul Dj.
He used to play to the student crowd on a Wednesday night. I was seriously
into buying vinyl
but hadn’t enough money to buy Equipment. Eventually I blagged my way into
the student clubscene
and got a gig. 1992!!!
3. What style music do you play ?
Mochar - What style?? Well that is open for debate (as SW Laughs) but it
is predominately house music from soulful to full on funky and everything in
between!!!
It is all about the music, the vibe, the feeling.
Wilson - 99% Soulful House, 1% something that has a good vibe about it be it
Jazz, Funk, Gospel.
As Long As I can keep it as Uplifting as possible, and people leave with a
smile on their face.
What was it Danny Tenaglia said? “ Music is the answer, to your problems
4. Likes and dislikes ?
Mochar - Italian Food, Beer, good soundsystems, funky music - oh and golf
(although I am not very good!!!)
Dislikes - Hardcore!! Fish and tax!!!
Wilson - Like US House Music, Liverpool F.C. ( Did I mention I was at the
Champions League Final?), Beer and Golf. ( I am Better than Mochar!!!!).
Dislikes -Hate Drum And Bass, Manchester United, and Music Poilicies!!!!
5. Venues/Radio stations played at ?
Mochar - Central FM - resident mixer for years on the Dance Show and now
Pleasure Radio!!!
