About Me

I have decided to reduce the amount of personal detail contained in this section for fear of the threat of identity theft.

I was born in 1954 in  Surrey, UK. I grew up with my parents, Roy & Norah and my elder brother, Pete

I attended Cuddington County Primary School & Stoneleigh County Secondary School (both Sparrow Farm Road and Newbury Gardens sites). Any old school chums out there?   I've recently made contact with several old school chums via Friends Reunited

My interests include Music, Comedy, Computers, Cooking, Eating, Drinking, Photography, Sleeping and Snoring very loudly!

Janice and I married in 1984 at Chessington Methodist Church in Surrey, 25 wonderful years ago (and they said it wouldn't last)!

We have two children; Lisa 22 & Sam 21. They have both grown up to be fantastic people and we are very proud of them.

In March 2008 Lisa and her fiancé Steve produced our grandson Lewis Anthony Bryant.  He's a real bundle of joy and seems to change every time we see him which is at least once a week.

After many years of nagging by the kids to have a pet, we  at last conceded and now have a cat called "Stanley". We rehomed him from The Dogs Home, Battersea (they rescue cats as well). He settlled in well and is one of the family.

After living in Carshalton, Surrey for a few years we moved to a small country town called Yateley in Hampshire  UK.

After many years touring as a live sound engineer I now work in West London as Sales Manager at LMC Audio Systems Ltd. Follow this link to view my career.

Cancer

In December 1995 I was diagnosed as having Hodgkin's Disease. After 8 months of Chemotherapy the disease appears to be in remission. I should like to take this opportunity of thanking publicly my family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time and Dr. Janet Shirley at Frimley Park Hospital, Dr. Goldstone at University College Hospital and all the nursing staff at both hospitals for their skill, care and compassion without which I would not be here today.

If you can spare a little money, please support these charities

For those of you whose lives have been affected by this terrible disease I am sure you will find something within this poem. For those fortunate not to have experienced the nightmare, please take a moment to look around and appreciate what we all share... Life!

This aint no rehearsal... you only get one take... make it count!

DiabetesDiabetes UK logo

February 2001 I was diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic.   Initially attempting to control the condition by diet alone, I am now on oral medication.  The way I discovered I'm diabetic was by purely by chance.  There must be thousands of 40-somethings out there, maybe a little overweight who are diabetic and don't realise it.  So if like me, you find yourself continually thirsty, frequently getting up in the night for a pee, get yourself checked out.

For more information take a look at  Rick Mendosa's On-line Diabetes Resource

Beer

When I became legally old enough to drink in the early 70's there was a trend amongst the major brewers to discontinue traditional ales and replace them with new keg beers. These tasted dreadful and were generally weaker than the traditional ales. Thanks to the efforts of  Camra the Campaign for Real Ale many brewers have listened to the public and have reintroduced and developed many excellent real ales. Thank you CAMRA!

However, it's not all good news. Many traditional pubs have been stripped of their natural character and charm and have been refurbished as "theme pubs".

Maybe CAMRA should campaign to preserve our traditional watering holes.

Radio

I like to listen to Jonathan Ross on BBC Radio 2 on Saturdays 10.00am - 1.00pm and

Danny Baker, weekdays on BBC London 3.00pm - 5.00pm
