This is your Northbridge. Note this is a totally unmodded original heatsink, it has not yet been removed so it will still have the bubblegum underneath it. I intend to fully VDD mod my 8RDA+ in the not too distant future so this will be one of the first things to go.

Note how cool it looks. It barely above ambient temperature. This means that either a) The northbridge puts out next to bugger all heat, or b) the heat sink and/or contact is rubbish. For all clever physics graduates, yes I have allowed for the emmissivity of aluminium, which in this case for this particular surface finish is pretty much the same as the surroundings anyway.
