My name is Hannah, and this is my Silverstone Page.
This page is all about my day trip to Silverstone!
THIS PAGE STARTED ON THE 5TH JUNE 2004
Ever since I'd sat in Michael Schumacher's F1 1996 car, at Haynes Motor Museum, I was really intrested in F1
For my 19th Birthday my brother promised me to take me to a F1 testing at Silverstone -I waited and waited....
Until a few days ago my brother came down stairs and said "guess what - Micheal Schumacher is at Silverstone today"
"but its a bit late now, but he's there again tomorrow"
So this is my report from the 2nd June 2004
We arrived at Silverstone at about 10am -and whilst queuing to get into the car park, you could hear the F1 cars had already started testing.
Once parked -we headed to an entry gate (number 19) and were give our free tickets
then we saw the first viewing spot -the sound was getting louder, and a car was coming.....
We walked through the tunnel by the side of the track, and when we came out guess who the first driver was I saw???.....
MICHAEL SCHUMACHER -I was shaking -I was in complete awe!
David had been to prevoius tests but was surprised this time to see how much of the track was open for us to view, we basically had the whole North end of the track, from Bridge (where we first started) to
Copse (at the end of the start/finish straight)
He took me all the way along and we stopped at verious points, to take photos, I also recorded some engine sounds on my phone!
Michael was there all morning, and Barrichello took over from him in the afternoon.
These are some Photos we took, my favourite one shows Me, Michael, The Ferrari Crew, Podium, Start/Finish line all in one shot!!

2pm was the start of the afternoon session, Barrichello had now taken over from Michael Schumacher, and McLaren had now come out to test their new car for the second day!
Ferrari were on the track to complete the tyre developement programme for the 3 days at Silverstone!
Unfortunally I found the afternoon a little more boring, waiting around, especially when a car had gone off the track (but we couldn't see it) but we knew as where we were standing we could see the Pit lights flashing a diagional amber -but no-one was hurt!
We left the track just before 5pm (the testing was from about 10am-5pm) and made our way home!!
Seeing F1 on Television is MUCH DIFFERENT from seeing it for real, for example, The sound of their engines are roar, when they cut their engines out to go back into their garage -it scared the life out of me!
also the crowd, its a very friendly atmosphere -not like a football match where the two differnt teams have to be in differnt stands!
but the most intresting thing I noticed was how loud the engines were but also peircing they sounded -especially the Honda -yes I had cotton wool in my ears!
When we got home at about 6 o'clock, I went onto the f1-live website and found all the testing times from all the driver of that day
and when I saw Toyota had done 124 laps i was like "yep I can remember most of those-I saw that car ALOT!"
Here the table of results:
