This Page is all about Fans Who have met the lovely Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Jennifers's encounter:
I was lucky enough to meet this handsome man!, I was an extra in Elvis 8 times.
One day we were filming a school scene where Elvis was in school and I was standing around waiting for them to start filming and all of a sudden Jonny walked in the building, walked right passed me and said hi to me.
That picture was taken a few days before they wrapped up on Elvis.
One day on set, I was sitting on a chair waiting to go film and it was getting late and we had been waiting around for hours and hours, so I was almost falling asleep and all of a sudden I heard my name called out 3 times I looked and it was Jonny. They were taking him to set and he stopped and gave me some hugs and kisses.
I miss him alot! too bad he's a star and not an actual friend of mine. But then again, maybe thats one of those, you never know things.
I'll always be a Jonny fan!
My name is Hannah, and this is my JRM Fan Encounters Page.
I met him my first night on the set of Elvis after my dad introduced us. my dad walked up to me and said the guy that is playing Elvis introduced himself to my dad.
So my dad said he would like me to meet him. My dad and I walked up to Jonny and my dad said to Jonny, this is my daughter Jennifer and he said hello darling, im jonny. Its a pleasure meeting you.
He reached out and gave me a hug and some kisses. Then everytime i'd see Jonny he'd always stop and tell me hi and ask how I was doing and such!.
Jonny was always so sweet to me - and to everyone. He always remembered who I was anytime he'd see me!.
It had been a few weeks since I had seen him so I pretty much stood there in shock that he remembered me. But that was awsome of him!
My Aunt and I were downtown and we got to watch them film a little bit of Elvis. Jonny was walking back to his trailer to change clothes for a new scene and my Aunt asked him to take a picture with me, Which of course, he was glad to do. I'm so glad I met Jonny.
He actually changed my life in ways he'll never know. I was the type that I always felt invisible and meeting Jonny changed that. He'd always go out of his way to stop and talk to me. He is so sweet! I'll always be a fan of his!
I'm going to acting school, who knows maybe one day i'll do a movie with him haha (wishful thinking).
But Jonny is a great guy! i'll always admire and adore him!, I hope I see him again someday!
My friends and I were in New Orleans this week to see a concert, and when we were out Thursday night looking for a place to eat at in the French Quarter, who should come walking by but JRM, himself!
I did a double take, and since I had my camera I went into the tea shop he went into. Here's our exchange, and the pics:
KERRY: (taps JRM on the shoulder) "Are you Jonathan Rhys-Meyers?" (of course he is, idiot)
JRM: "Yes, I am."
KERRY: "Could I have my picture taken with you?"
JRM: "You sure can, Love." (hugs me) "What's your name, Love?"
KERRY: (he just hugged me is still registering) "Kerry."
(poses with me...2 pics taken)
TEA SHOP CLERK: "What's he been in?"
KERRY: "Vanity Fair...The Velvet Goldmine..."
(JRM goes to leave)
KERRY: "What are you in town for?"
JRM: "Elvis"
KERRY: "Are you playing him?"
JRM: "Yes."
KERRY: "Awesome! I always thought you should." (I'm an idiot!)
He was really sweet as you can tell. And cute as hell:

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME DAY!!!!! I JUST MET JONNY!!!!!!! I went down to the set at Irving Plaza in Union Square. I arrived at 7:00AM and asked around if Jonny was expected on the set today. Once I found out he was coming I planted myself on the corner of the street and waited (freezing my butt off, by the way). One guy actually fille do me in on which trailer he would go to first so I could hang int hat area. That was really nice of him. It saved me a lot of guess-work.
Anyway, on the corner I stood....I just kept looking back and forth down each street. And then all of a sudden I turned to my right and he was crossing the street coming right towards me! He was walking pretty fast since it was so cold, so I called his name and then just started walking with him towards the trailers. I was TOTALLY flustered and have no idea much of what I said to him. I did ask him if he walked from his hotel because I didn't see him pull up in a car. He told me "a car just dropped me off" in his beautiful Irish accent. Those words are ingrained in my head right now. I also said something like I've been trying to meet you for a while and I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. Stuff like that. Not only was I flustered because I was walking down the street having a conversation with Jonny, but it was so cold that my lips were half numb. I noticed he was carrying some books, one must have been the script because it had a lot of little stickies sticking out of it. He also had a can of coke in the other hand.
Anyway, as we got closer to the trailer I spotted someone coming out of the trailer. I asked Jonny if I could take a picture with him and he said yes. I gave my camera to the person who came out of the trailer and he took our picture. Before Jonny went into the trailer I said "Have a good day" and he said "Thanks, you too".
I checked the picture on my digital camera to make sure neither one of us blinked. I did notice that Jonny did his famous "non-smile" pose. I was hoping for a smile, but I guess at this hour and in this cold weather that wasn't happening. Heck...I'm not picky....I'm just glad I got to meet him! I hung around for about another half an hour and took pics of him going from trailer to trailer. He went inside Irving Plaza and then came back out again. It was cool to just see him walking around the streets of Manhattan. He really does blend in. Anyway, I finally dragged myself away and headed towards Penn Station (I still have to go to work today). I smiled the whole way home on the train. People must have thought I was "on something". Actually, I was...it was a "Jonny-High"!

I found out where they were shooting from imdb and on Tuesday afternoon went by there on my way to work. When I got there nothing was really happening because they were shooting inside Irving Plaza (a concert venue). But when I started walking back to my office I passed this big trailer which had the name "Louis" on it. I hung out for another 10 minutes hoping to catch a glimpse of Jonny but I had to go. By coincidence, his trailer was parked in front of the Irish pub(!) that I've been going to every Tuesday for the last 3 months with my volleyball team after games and around the corner from where we play.
Later that evening I was on my way to meet a friend before the game on the chance I might see him an sure enough I saw him walking out of Irving Plaza. I was so surprised that I didn't say anything, just watched as he walked over and into his trailer. So while I'm kicking myself for not trying to catch up with him before he went inside, my friend shows up and we go and get a beer at the pub. This gives us a perfect view of the trailer and after a while someone from the set comes and knocks on the trailer door, presumably to call him back to the set. I realize its now or never so I go outside and ask the PA, "Is this Jonathan Rhys Meyers' trailer?" He says yes and I ask him if he thinks it would be ok if I wait for him to come out so I could meet him. He says, "Oh sure, no problem. He's really nice and I'm sure he'd be happy to say hello." We chat for a couple of minutes and then the door opens and out comes the loveliest man in Europe! I swear I thought I was going to stop breathing and inside my head I'm screaming like a 13 year old fangirl "Oh my god! He's so cute! I love him!" But what actually happened was he walked out the door and when he saw me standing there said hello. I started to reach out to shake his hand and introduced myself. He took my hand and then leaned in and kissed me on the cheek and said "Hello love, nice to meet you, I'm Jonny." I think he said something else but I was so surpised by the kiss that i think i momentarily blanked out! Anyway, I asked him if I could get a picture with him and he said "Absolutely" and took the camera from me and handed it to his assistant. He put his arm around me and leaned in and said, "is this ok?" (Um, yeah, definitely ok!) We took the picture and then I told him that he was in two of my favorite movies. He asked which ones. I said, "Velvet Goldmine" (he kind of rolled his eyes and smiled and said "ah yeah, and the other?" I said "Gormenghast" and he looked pleasantly surprised and said "wow really, that's great, thanks" I congratulated him on his Golden Globe and he said "Oh aren't you lovely, thanks!" His assistant was trying to get him to the set so I said thanks for the picture and good luck with the flming. THen he gave me a little hug and another kiss on the cheek and said "Lovely to meet you. They're waiting for me. Have a nice night!"
About an hour and a half later when we were all heading to the pub after the game, we all ran into him as he was leaving his trailer. He looked up as he heard our loud group coming towards him and I'm sure he thought I was stalking him at this point! But I said "We were all just going for a beer, would you like to join us?" He said "Oh, thanks love, sorry but I have an early call in the morning."
So-that is my little brush with greatness. ;) Sorry its so long! But if anyone can understand what that was like, i know its all of you here. Jonny couldn't have been nicer or more gracious and I hope you all get a chance to meet him someday.
