Jenson Button =Born To Race

My favourite team are.... HONDA F1 RACING! Especially JENSON BUTTON

THIS SITE STARTED ON THE 29TH OCTOBER 2006

How/why I got into Jenson Button

I got into F1 because my brother was a big fan, he had a number of websites, went to a lot of free testing at Silverstone and even a few Silverstone races, and watched nearly all the races.

Brother started to lose intrest in F1, handing over his website, but then I got interested in F1.
I know some people must think i'm mad, I'm a girl and likes F1... its a mans sport... NO ITS NOT!

I however became more interested in F1 when I went to Haynes Motor Museum and saw Michael Schumachers 1996 F1 car, You could sit in it for £10 or something and have a picture taken in it. Sadly when we got there, the last photoshoot was 5pm and had missed it. I was gutted the rest of the holiday, But on the last day of my holiday, dad sprung a surprise, and took me back and I got to sit in Michael's 1996 car.

My intrests grew further and further, and my brother kept telling me that one day he would take me to a free testing at Silverstone, that opertunity came on the 2nd June 2004, the first driver on the track was my favourite Michael, I couldn't take pictures I was shaking with excitement so the camera pics were down to my brother.

I went back to Silverstone free testing the following year on the 1st June with my father as my brother got severly sunburnt and can't tolerate the sun anymore, I'd taken the whole 3 days off work but couldn't go on the 2nd June 2005 for a few reasons, and had no-one to go with on the 3rd June, but I was on a mission, to take myself up to Northamptonshire on my own, as i'd never gone on a motorway on my own or long distance before by myself. I'd done myself proud -except from hitting my head on a railing at Silverstone and giving myself a wapping headache!!

I went back to the Silverstone free testing for the 3rd year running on the 27th April 2006 and took my mate Samual as he'd wanted to come along, Ferrari wern't there, but lots of other teams were, including Honda -Jenson Button and Rubans Barrichello

I was pretty impressed with Honda, Sam was talking about Honda alot. Jenson did lots of laps, and we even sat watching them from the stands into their garage, taking pictures and videos.

But I really got into Jenson more, after he won the Hungarian GP on the 6th August, it was his 113 Grand Prix, he qualified 4th, but and engine change moved him down to 14. And on a very wet track, he saw drivers spin, crash, he took the lead. And his test driver Anthony Davidson was commitiating, standing in for Martin Brundle who was on holiday!

Jenson was also the only driver in the 2006 season to score the most point in the last 6 races.

And as Jenson rightly says: "We’re on target for when the new car comes out and we’re going into this season, well I am personally, looking to win the world championship and looking to fight for the world championship,"

Sadly the 2007 season was Honda worst season, the car was developed around the wind tunnel which was set up all wrong, and in turn they went backwards rather than forwards. They did winter testing with a black livery , in early January 2007 they launched the "Earth Car", the world is printed on the car, it really stood out, and later on the season you could pledge your name to appear on the car. Worse still that Honda's car from last year is being raced by their 'B' team Super Aguri and looking better in driving.
Whilst Jenson got a total of 6 points in the season, Ruben's didn't get any, his worst ever season in his carer.

At Silverstone 2007, Jenson met his JBHQ fans made up from the JB forum, and you can see more on that Here.
A Weekend later Honda had an "Open Day" in aid of Helen and Douglas House and Stepping stone pre school. It was a massive success, with over 15,000 people there at their Brackley base. Of course I met him several times that day (you can read more under "honda" submenu).
A few days later it was announced Gils De Ferren, was leaving Honda. A new replaced came, and thoughout 2007 they've had new staff coming in to try and improve Honda's performance..with some effect. But now the season is over, we hope they can sort all the wind tunnel problems out and look to a better 2008.
At the end of the 2007 season Jenson also said goodbye to his physiotherapist trainer Phil Young, he is retiring to Australia after 7 years of working with Jenson. His replacement is Mike Collier

On the 2nd December Jenson took part in the Race of Champions at Wembley Stadium, he had a laugh, won a race against his mate David Coulthard, but lost both his races against my all time favourite F1 driver.. Michael Schumacher, But it was a great day out and I'll hopefully get pictures up very soon

The first race of the 2008 season in Australia was an eventful one, Honda suprisingly found some pace in their private test before heading to Oz, but on the first corner of the race, he was taken out by Vettel... The following weekend Jenson's pace shone thoughout Friday's free practice, coming 9th in session one, and 4th in session two, He managed to quali p.13, but due to another driver technical problem he was p.12.
The Malaysia race Day came and John Button (Jenson's dad) wore a t-shirt on the grid with the words "today will be a better day", One of Jenson's sayings... and he started the race in p.11.. in all the window pits stops managed to go as high as 7th, but once everything settled down, he finished the race in P.10...
Jenson will next be racing in Bahrain on the 6th April..
