My name is Hannah, and this page is all about David Coulthards book signing of "What It Is" at Pole Position shop in London on the 10th September

Well David Coulthard had planned to do the signing at Pole Position on the 1st September.
That weekend of the signing, we: Katie from Kent, Marney from Derby, Laurence from PORTUGAL, myself from Hertfordshire all kipped out, in the lounge of Alison's flat in London.
But on the Thursday, David had cancelled the event "due to Red Bull testing" (funny the testing finished on friday in Italy!..) and because of this Larence couldn't cancel his plane fight, Marney couldn't cancel her coach, So we decided to still meet up, we had a blast, but very annoyed the signing had been cancelled. However on the Sunday we knew KArta Cayon A1 driver would be doing a signing instore as it was the Indian festival in London.
So on the saturday we all decided to pop into pole position, and ask questions, only to find that he'd cancelled... GREAT.. But we did have a great weekend, Full of events like coach turning up late for Marney's arrival on Friday night and us being kicked out of Vicky coach station cos it had closed, then at 1am Sat morning being turfed out of Vicky train station cos that too was closing, and NO pubs open to sit in. And then Sinday mornign getting up at 4:3am and going to the bus stop in our PJ's to wave Laurence off as he got busses to Heathrow for his 8am flight!, then heading back to bed for a few hours, before spending time out and about in London! -of course taking lots of pics!

The David Coulthard book signing was resheduled for Monday 10th September. But only myself and Alison would be in attendance....
So after the Italian Gp on Sunday (which David Coulthard crashed out on, on lap two!) I made my way to Alison's house by Tube in London.
I met Alison outside the station at 6pm like we said!, as it was a nice evening we walked back to Alison's.
It had only been a week since I left and her cat Billy was besotted with me, rubbing herself all over my trainer, so I couldn't move. We set up my camp bed on the floor, of which Billy made herself comfy on.
We sat at her comp and had a chat... looked at verious things and learn't how the world is really a small place... (Alison likes Martin Brundle, and went to the MB signing few years back when I told her my brother used to do a Martin Brundles Quotes page many years back.. and that David was my brother!!!!..)

We finally head to bed about 12:30am!, I looked through an F1 book of Alison's and joined at the end of my campbed/sleeping bag by Billy.. eventually tiredness got to me and was asleep!

When I woke at 6:45am, to get ready so we could head out, early, incase of a queue, I was applying my make up when Alison appared laughing saying "have you heard the news", me "no.. has the book signing been cancelled?!" Alison was like "noo... (laughs) Britney Spears trashed her comeback performace... she was miming, out of sync and badly out of shape in her bakini -its all over the news"
So on goes the computer and log onto the net whilst Alison is flicking through every TV channel wanting to show me, Eventually Sky show the Britney event, and we pissing ourselves with laughter... OH dear she needs to go and hide before she damages her repitation anymore...

We eventually leave the flat at 8:30am, once outside the door.. right this weather is never gonna reach 21 degrees C today, bit nippy... and get a bus to the Tesco, we need to get Marney a good luck card, as she has a bad knee, and will get DC to sign it... no cards in Tesco... So we walk past Pole Position, closed and no queues... right in search of the card shop that used to be down Regent street, can't see it.. maybe look in Hamleys... Closed!, so we walk through to Carnabey street, find a Boots that do cards, hum bit expensive, all birthdays, lets carry on looking, when we eventaully come to a little News Agents, ooh they do cards, and I picked the card with the Sunflower on the front (i'd seen it in Boots) it just caught my eye... all paid for.. now what?.. Alison wanted to go back to the "B Beautiful" shop (which was closed when we walked past before) which was now open, to see if they took Lush vouchers (us guys all clubbed together and brought Alison as a Thanks you for letting us stay at hers last weekend). but they don't, insted we browsed, and a lady assisitant was talking to us, and overheard my "what colour foundation do you think suits me", So I ended up with a make over that took the redness out of my skin... cool or what, and was given a few samples of foundation and moisturiser.. we left the shop about 10:45am, and walked to Pole Positon shop.

In the Window they had the Black Honda shirt... once inside they had rack fulls.... about time... SHAME THERES ONLY 4 RACES LEFT OF THE SEASON!!!, They had closed off the upstairs section where the signing was talking place... we asked to go up as we were for the signing, the queue was on the stairs (about 30-40 of us at the time) but eventally they moved the queue round.
Looked like he was going to be signing on the round black bench counter.... myself and Alison sat on the floor and we got chatting to a few people, a bloke with a camera kept doing queue shots! at 12noon DC turned up, there was a few cheers and he said Hello everyone, then got behind the counter.... how are you supposed to get pics with DC... As we were in the Queue we saw Maria, so Alison said 'Hello' and went off to get pics of DC.

Eventually it was our turn, I just got him to sign my book, whilst Alison explained that Laurance had come from Portugal, and it was cancelled and another who couldn't make it cos she wasn't very well.. so got him to sign Marney's Get Well card, we took few pictures, including one for the Jenson Button Forum, which DC was happy to do, we told him not to tell Jenson , and said we'll see you again in a min cos we're going to rejoin the queue to take pictures for Maria as she'd forgotten her camera "oh right" was his reply!... so then back to where Maria was in the queue! talked with Maria, and looked at my pictures the "girls" who were there to take pics on fan cameras.. they were RUBBISH, cutting DC's head out of two of them, I was very annoyed :-@ .

Then it was back to Maria, she got her book signed for her daughter, and an autograph in her autograph book for herself. Myself and Alison took some pictures, then went downstairs and out the shop, Said goodbye to Maria.

It was a very boring signing, not much atmosphire at all, the counter was too high, and he looked more like a shop assistant than an F1 driver.
