Saturday -Free practice 3 & F1 Qualifying

Woke up to a cold morning, we were FREEZING, had some breakfast, packed bag, and Ashley with Lucinda took us to the station, and helped us with the ticket machine! (so we got the right fare/zones), standing on the platform jumping about to keep warm, and eventually a train came, got on it to Southen Cross station, grabbed a coffee at the station and some fruit toast, before getting the tram outside to Gate 1 of Albert Park.
Once there queued up as usual, and waited till 10:30am for the gates to open..
Went straight to our seats, on the track the Historic demonstration was about to ger underway from 11am, and also 1105-12.00 was the Formula One team pit stop practices.. well Ferrari didn't seem to do any..
then there was the Formula 5000 Tasman cup revial (race 1) of 6 laps, beofre the Aussie racing cars (race 2) of 8 laps, The min challange (race 2) of 6 laps.. in which myself adn dad took it in turns to go to the loos and grab some lunch, and more drinks as we'd drunk our bottles of water already!!
Then we had the BMW Ultimate Speed Comparison 3.. YAY as the three cars line up on the grid, comeone Christians gotta win it I say to dad... as they line up on the grid Paul Gover in the BMW 135 Coupe sets off first, closely followed by Greg Murphy in the Sprint Gas V8 supercar, and shortly followed by Christian Klien in the BMW Sauber F1.. you hear them..and looking to the back of the straight.. theres all three cars.. the crowd stands.. last car is Greg Murphy (Sprint Gas V8 supercar), and then Christian Klien in the BMW Sauber F1 car.. but closing in on Paul Grover in the BMW 135 coupe... and Christian Klien JUST pipped Paul Grover right infront of us.. YAY Christian won finally!!, bring on tomorrow..

We then had the 2 seater Manardi an Army parachute disply, and then 14:00-15.00 the Formula One free practice 3 session...
And it wasn't long into the session when Kimi Raikkenon's car stopped out on track after just 5 laps! -Ferrari were having a bad weekend.. and now the team would only have an hour or so to get it recovered, and back into the garage to mend it, in time for qualifying...

The cars come out on track, for an instilation lap before going back into the pits only to return back out again. Woohooo... my favourite driver JENSON BUTTON got pole.. OH MY GOODNESS.. I come all this way and Jenson gets pole.. The real icing on the cake would be if he won it tomorrow...
with that myself and dad headed to the tram station, back to Southen Cross station and got a train back to Barbara's.. happy and all I kept saying to dad was "who got pole?".. or "daaaaad, Jenson on pole!"
Got back to Barbara's and everyone was happy for me! We sat in the lounge chatting, and lucinda brought out her camera.. for 450D SLR camera, just like I have, but without the battery grip. I taught her a few settings, and then had a meat salad for dinner, before arrangments were made for the early morning start, uploaded photos to laptop, and headed to bed, excited about tomorrow!
